The TAXMAN 250 TE nightmare

5thgear

I'm a DSBC sponsor. Please thank me with your busi
IN 2008 we sold Taxman a TE 250 he flew over from the 250 area code and took it home .

Tried to register bike , 2 numbers on Title were switched and not matching frame like 23 was 32 . Honest mistake by Husky . But no one even the border didn't catch it. So Form 1 and all border paperwork had to be redone. In doing this the border has to admit they made a mistake . Long story short it took about 4 supervisors and many trips to get everything redone.

Bike then got registered after months and months .

Bike was then taken on a trip to Moab.

Motor exploded .

Verdict . Power up kit was installed bike over revved spit out a valve shim and valve slammed piston bounced around ruining top end.

Owner then goes on internet. We told him that's fine just don't post pictures, if Husky sees the bike with the power up kit your warrenty is over and voided.

So now starts the warrenty process. Unfortunately this was in June 2008 time of the great BMW Husky take over. At this point we could not get parts let alone warrenty work we did not know this at the time. When Cagiva owned Husky it was really easy doing warrenty parts in a week. But little did dealers know they depleted all parts inventory for the move. Bmw just kept taking the orders and promising us parts . It wasn't until April of 2009 that we saw any parts at all.

So owner was being patient . But Bmw kept losing our warrenty claim like 4 times. We even tried running the warrenty claim on different TE 250's from other shops with no success. Finally BMW said run the parts claim threw our partner shop in the states and all will be well. So nothing showed up for months. Finally they gave us our answer.

BIKE WAS A CAGIVA PRODUCT GET YOUR WARRENTY FROM THEM.

So from a dealer stand point . Bike had a power up kit. rear tire was worn out as well as wheel bearings and lose spokes. Good indicator bike was run at high speed for the first 30 plus hrs of it's life. Therefore motor gernaded.

Now we are looking real bad in front of the whole world because it's all over the internet. So to keep customer happy we bought a blow out sale 2009 TE 250. Asked owner if he would pay for half the parts at dealer cost and we would do the labour for free. So around $1200 his price.

His bike left with a brand new 2009 motor. I'm still sitting on a nice 2008 blown motor waiting for parts.

I could have told owner to pound sand from the beginning . But we love the Husky product even if Husky doesn't love us back. We didn't ride the hell out of the bike and we didn't build the bike or make Husky parts. But I don't like seeing people out and try hard to stand behind product. So from all this I'm out of pocket close to $2500 plus lost sales due to internet slagging.
