Trailtech X2 halogen ?

Need a decent light for the 690, and hoping someone can chime in re the Trailtech X2 halogen ?
KTM Bryon was nice enough to let me try the HID X2, and its awesome, but not street legal.

Any feedback/advice re improving the "woeful" stock lamp would be appreciated.

I have had mine X-2 HID for going two years on street. No problems. Just point it low.

Didnt think these were adjustable ? Are you simply pitching (downwards) it when mounting it ?
Got flashed plenty when I had the HID X2 on....

The plastic base with the two pins can be moved. It bolts on between the fork mount on the fender. And maybe the fork angle on my Husky is different so that my lights don't shine as far.

I just bought the X-2 off-road halogen for my plated 530 KTM. The stock light was like an old two D-cell powered flash light with one of those old big light bulbs. The X-2 halogen is better, but it's no way near as bright as the X-2 HID. Having said that, at least now I have a light. The stock light was totally useless.

I forgot to mention that both the HID and Halogen lights have two settings for the pins on the bottom. This adjusts the angle so the light throws closer or farther. So you can use those to adjust the lights. Mine are set on max.

I am guessing that when you tried the X2 Halogen, you did not have the pins on your Bike?

The "loaner" I tried (thanks Bryon has no adjustment. Just sits on the fender pins.
I'm thinkin either the X2 or one of Ian's Lynx fairings is the way to go; X2 = light n bright, but no windscreen. Lynx = great lighting, great adjustability, but heavier, and physically large.

I havent seen the halogen (street legal) X2, would love to see how bright it is in comparison.

Didn't the "Loaner X2" have two sets of pin holes on the bottom?

Indeed they do ! Please slap me so my powers of observation begin to again function (although you'll have to get in line .

I had the the X-2 in my 690 but the low beam burnt out. So I put in the OFFROAD halogen. The HID high beam is the way to go. Just ask the guys in front of me on a night ride. I got a couple of small LED lights I was goin to put on but no need with the HID.
