With those lights, if they don't smash when you fall over, you can reassemble them. They release the end piece and it hangs by the wires. You look at it and say oh da*&. But if you get your philips screwdriver out you can take them a part and reassemble. A lot of people don't know this and then ride with them dangling where they will break for sure.
They can smash the lens and then it is bad. But at least you have that one chance...
To test you can lean on it with your hand and push the end off. It doesn't seem good, but it's okay. Then practise your one minute fix.
