With a plan of attending the two long days ride I departed a day early with a plan of intercepting the group on their way north along Kookoopi pass.
Left the Loops fashionably late in the morning aimed at the Inks/Duffy area and across the bench towards Savona then up and over to Barnes Lake with an end goal of camping in the Canyon, somewhere.
Beautiful day under broken cloudy skies.

looking straight up deadmans valley in the middle of the pic. taken from way above Six mile.

along the east side of the Thompson River. this is about a half hour before the big disappointment in finding the log cabin pub and it's awesome cheesburger n beer, still closed. bring on the bowl o noodles. ho hum.

camp for the night just north of Lytton, not as big a fire as it looks, threw on a dead pine bough for the pic. (noodles and beer at the foot of my chair)

the view from my coffee cup in the morning.

soon after breaking camp and finding out that Kookoopi is open.

In Lytton beside the Hwy.

with my last name, how could I not take this selfie-ish pic, wouldn't every Smith?

Not wanting to do the harrison portion of the ride I was fortunate enough to get to ride it most of the way south then turn around and ride it north back to boston bar. I had stopped at a scenic spot to take a pic. and the first rider on his rouge Honda africa appeared just in time to be in a set of pana pics. being taken.

riding along a ways longer I came up on the group I was to meet, which apparently is being lead by Steve, here gesturing at I'm not sure what, perhaps he's wanting my beer? Being on the bike before eight it was close enuf to noon for me! (and quite used to one handed camera shots)

the last bridge headed north along the nahatlach. (six pics. i think)

Steve, arriving at that bridge.

the swarm of dual sports invade the Esso station in Boston Bar. That lonely blue Yami on the far right is about to be swarmed and in fact already has a wrench hanging offa the rear axle. Hey kids, check that you've got enough life left in your chain n sprokets before heading out on an almost 1000 km weekend. Hope he made it through the weekend...

as sweep rider I was following Enrico on his Weestrom for awhile, while quite modest when I mentioned to him that he rides that Strom better than any other rider I had seen, it didn't change the fact that he was darn good on the quite far from petite Suzuki.
Here on a loose bit of road he has just clanged the beast over a sharp cut ditch.

one Steve, two Dacotah's, three pictures, four bikes.

crossing under the coquihalla.

Well that's my 20 allowable pics. for the day done. There's a few more to go and another two days to boot! When I get to it I hope you'll check it out.
thx fer lookin.
