OK what you do is upload your image into your media gallery or album (not your post)
easiest is to open two windows one with your post and the other one is you media gallery
Once you upload your photo and save then all you have to do is click on that photo any you will be brought to that photo page with all the details of the photo.
Scroll down and you will find all the different types of links you can copy

Generally I like to either drag/drop a picture from my laptop image in to a reply or new post but I've only seen that option on the ThumperTalk Forum and is convenient but l reduce the size of the pictures cus I'm a bit old school about file sizes.

IMO as i mentioned is really nice to be able to COPY IMAGE from a website, paste directly into a post as well as being able to re-size it.

Below a direct copy image and pasted 1.5MB image full size.

Same as above but resized in my reply.

This is direct full size, about 200KB and it is

Then there is also the option to change the thumbnail or full image once attached or inserted.

As Tom said large picture file size might only be an issue to over all forum performance if there were hundreds of members posting lots of pics but I saw the file size limited when I first attached a picture and the admins could always check with the forum hosting to get stats and set picture file size limit later if needed.

Not sure if any of this helps but I'm liking the new forum more and more now i just need to get the bikes out and ride cus its SPRING ;)

Any chance you can provide specifics of original image, i.e. filesize and resolution of original file ?

Thank you!

EDIT: advrider has limit of 19.8MB, but seems that they are using some kind of down scaling mechanism built in, trying to figure out

Looks like there are 2 options to attach images and one would be attach files and the other is thisClipboard01.jpg
I used that with this image and IMO a panorama type pic but small file size and attached as full image.

From my laptop and not sure if any of this helps

Please try uploading original pano again using this method (it should work also if you upload it as attachment):

I made some changes that need to be tested.

Ok will try in the morning thx.
Yes I've been using the insert full image at adv.rider. haven't tried the embed feature here. Perhaps try that also.

Try whatever method you prefer actually, they all should work in similar fashion.

I was able to upload 40MB pano from my pc, so I imagine yours should work too ;)

I don't know if anyone else is noticing this on a phone or laptop but I'm find the recent topic with pics (not sure what size they are) are taking a long time to show each picture in each of the replies

I guessing this is due to each picture size in megabytes and again, not really sure its if its an actual issue since there are not many posters but I think I mentioned this before, I'm sure the admins can get statics on forum performance if needed.

Just my 2 cents.

It's a combination of things, but certainly fact that this is ~15MB page (just these pictures you are looking at on 2nd page) will not improve load time.

I have been thinking about options to speed it up, but it might not come right away and not sure how big of an effect it will have.

Also #stayathome movement most likely affects how overloaded web servers (we have a shared plan) and networks are :)

Ya I've found out I'm really good at anti-social distancing cus I've been doing it for a long time :)

Otherwise I'm still working 9 to 5ish Monday to Friday and more than happy to help if I can help test anything for you :)

Oh and I will not bug you about why my signature or location is not showing but we can move that to a separate topic if you're bored and want :)
