Yours is actually the first 08 I have heard of needing them adjusted.
What were the measurements the dealer got on all 4 , before they adjusted them?
I have checked 2 different 08's myself, and heard from several others, and all were WELL within specs.
Mine were as follows......and if memory serves me correctly it had about 1,100 kms on it.....I wrote down the specs i found, but not the mileage, so am guessing it was about 1100.
L in .16 mm
R in .17 mm
L ex .21 mm
R ex .22 mm
ps. you wrote that Kawi recomends the valve check at 2400 kms, but they actually do not require it until 24,000 kms.
Just wanted to point that out.
Also on the 08 models the speedo reads about 5% higher than the actual speed you are doing.
Cut the plug off the bottom of the area that houses the pilot screw with a hacksaw blade, and adjust the screw out about 2.25 turns from gently seated, and it will run twice as good as new.
The dash tends to vibrate, so lift it up a bit and put a couple strips of black electrical tape on the bar that is under the gauges, and the attle stops.
And be sure to check the muffler mount bolts as at least 50 % of the 2008 bikes have them left loose from the factory....mine were already gone by the time i checked them, so i bought replacements at home hardware, and got self locking nuts for them.
