wtf happend to husky

I've owned the TE630, 630sms, TC449 and now the TE511. All of which were very capable and fun bikes to ride in the trail and on the street with minimal problems. The intake boot needs to be tightened on, the spark plug gap should be checked and the bike should immediately be uncorked. As well the TE310 has a quarter turn throttle, remove that right away and you have a beast of a bike. I'm not racing nor am I an experienced dirt rider but I am happy with my bike and really enjoy how well it preforms even with a novice rider piloting it. Husky's aren't for everyone, if you like to spend a ton of money maintaining your race bred dirt bike then buy a KTM or Husaberg ;)

We've been applauded over the years for running a relatively clean & positive site. The 'yo momma' type threads / posts are discouraged - there are plenty of other sites for that.

+1 for the great comment, John.

Lev started a thread here; either ill-conceived or with an intent to provoke. Perhaps he thought he was on another site or that the discussions needed a kickstart?

I enjoy riding & communicating with Lev. He is positive, sincere and has a unique POV & sense of humour. Ditto for my friend Tom. No one threatened a deletion or banning - Lev brought this up. Two opinionated smart-mouths start in on each other and then Ron comes in as an unsolicited white knight...

I own two carbed TE450's. I love them and would buy more if I could find one in a crate. The FI Huskies in this class, in my opinion, have suffered engine & frame redesigns that would discourage me from making a purchase.

Good. Glad you can handle it Ron.

Is changing my icon a subtle hint or the consequence I alluded to:(?

Apparently changing folks icons is fair game for someone. Not sure I like the implication but if its a hint no worries I can handle it.

Gee....that was kind of a cheap shot, but to get back to the thread,
WTF did Happen to Husky?

It's called "being facetious" fellas.

No, changing member's personal settings is not being facetious. it is unwarranted and poor payback for 5 years of support to DSBC.

Like Franhoser, I request the moderator please cancel my membership in this forum.

Best wishes to the many wonderful friends I have made through this forum, good luck and ride safe.

This has got to be a first for me, Two "members" that want to have their accounts deleted over the same thread. We are starting to look like the quad riders

I thought each of you where made of sterner stuff? I have been wrong before and I guess I'm wrong again

I have been moderating this site since day one, maybe I am out of touch and its time for me to go? I have thought about it more than once. I have been called all sorts of names on this site and privately, I even have had two guys come to my house and threaten me for things I have done on this forum. Right or Wrong I have always stood by what I have said (or posted)

Lev, read your first post and tell me again that you did not deserve my retort, you weren't trying to provoke and intelligent conversation, you wanted a soap box to rant, and I provided that for you. Now you want your account deleted?

Ron, you jumped into a dog fight and you got bit, what did you think was going to happen? Five years of contributions and you want to be deleted because of a avatar change. Oh well?

I only delete posts so you will have to contact one of the others to delete your account, please be aware all your posts remain after your account is deleted

Sorry its ended up like this (actually it does not have to end)

I forgot to add "Everyone Loves a Train Wreck"
This is the fastest growing thread on the site, only one other faster "the Moshy thread"

I'm wondering if this WTF thread was talking about KTMs rather than how BMW ruined Husky if their would be the same responses... It may be OK to express unfavorable opinions about some brands on this site as long as it's not certain brands... Personally I don't care much for the direction BMW has taken Husky but they own the brand and can go which way they want with it... The 310 looks to be the last of the true Husky models left, those new Husky 650 models should be all the rage as a DS bike with their light 400+ lbs ride weight and the 7.5" long travel suspension... The low seat height will be a benefit to some and the bikes may sell OK with that feature...

Holy hell boys, it's an interweb forum FFS. Would someone please make my avatar two gay guys on a scooter? Seeing as we are all such a sensitive bunch. Let's all calm down and call it what it is, unless you are on a sponsored mount and fighting for championship points then realistically the bike you ride comes to preference before performance. No one I've ever met outside of closed course racing can really outride their machine.

Christ I thought the sportbiker's were soft. Check your junk boys, sounds to me like some sandy vaginas need a douche so a slim few can play nice in the sandbox. All joking aside, a moderator playing with your avatar is actually kinda funny given certain circumstances. Lighten up, the rain will come and the trails will be free of dust soon enough. All the fair weather tourists will put their machines away and the rest can enjoy un congested trails.

Although I'll never own a Husky I thought franhosers original question was interesting and more than a few
other posters agreed. Most of us would have liked to see the thread progress.

Instead we got: "I don't go to your house and shit all over the floor"...."Maybe I should get my newspaper
and treat you like the dog your acting like"...."We are playing the shitting game" and "I don't have to disagree
with with you to delete your account, I can do that anytime".

Others tried to smooth the troubled waters including one who was called an "unsolicited white-knight"
and then maliceously had his personal avatar altered. Why? I guess to punish him for speaking
out, but also to demonstrate to the rest of us to mind our manners because he could wield power over our
personal settings with a casual stroke of the mouse.

A lot of us enjoy belonging to this forum....Most of us try to make our posts useful and entertaining, and
we are proud that we were able to contribute. Our avatar and other personal settings reflect that pride.
We depend on the administrators and moderators of this site to respect and protect us from maliceous and
unfair actions of others but when that power is so casually abused by an administrator, something important is lost.

And Wheelieit, I've always considered this a "family" site...there are kids, wives, girlfriends and I suppose gays too
that check and post regularly. I've rarely seen anyone insult so many people in one post.....

Open the door for me too, Mark....I need some fresh air.

Spoken from a guy with an XT on the Husky tread

I have fun with this and don't take myself to seriously, I cant or something bad will happen. You guys that want to take your toys and go home after a couple of comments or changes you dont like, try being a moderator for a while. Then come talk to me again.

Lev started this please read the first post again,
he started the colourful language,
he requested to be moderated off the site delete my account, I also got a pm from him, it was a private message so its not going to be shared here
he continued with the colourful language
he requested a third time to be deleted, his request was approved

Never was there any threat or discussion of censorship or any other type of retribution amongst any of the moderators or administrators, in fact there was no discussion other than what you have seen on this board.

A final reminder for everyone, NO ONE here gets paid. There is no reimbursements for time or even coffee. Everyone who works on this site volunteers everything. In fact many put in way more than they take out. That is what makes this site what it is, VOLUNTEERS.

From time to time these VOLUNTEERS might make a mistake, and all I can do is remind everyone "you get what you pay for" Here at DSBC we get way more than what we pay for. If you dont like what you see going on, you can change the channel, but you dont have to destroy all that is good because there is a small part that is bad.

Look at the position (those who want to publicly be deleted) put the moderators in, they are dammed if they do and dammed if they dont. They dont get paid to make decisions like this. They are here because they love Dual Sport Riding and want to contribute even more than yourselves.

Finally there is always two sides to every post. Just sit back and enjoy the Train Wreck. There are way more important things in life (like riding)

At this time I would like to thank all the volunteers who make this site possible, and the contributors to this site. I often forget that this site is nothing but a running advertising banner without your time and input.

THANK YOU

TT

Gays, girlfriends, wives and kids all have a sense of humor. I not only poke fun at minorities but myself as well. Nothing I post will ever be 100% serious for the most part. I call it how I see it and you guys are being a bunch of babies. You guys all need to relax a little, this isn't a Christian riders forum FFS. Christ if you complain this much on a forum I can't imagine how much you complain when the trail gets tough. Grow a set, thicken your skin and get on your bike and go for a ride.

For the love of God, It's the internet. Let it go. When we all meet face to face there are never any problems. You all are Great Guys. Let get over this FFS. Life is way short.

And no-one works more than Tom in all the thank-less stuff he does for us Riders!

Back to Huskies, I see the new Bikes as being Modern KLR's

I appreciate Tom's work (and everyones) with out a doubt. Thanks guys. But all Lev did IMO was express a negative opinion (shared by many) and got spanked for it, WTF are we only allowed puppies and rainbows here now?

Did you think you could just pop into the Husky section and express you displeasure with BMW and tell us how bad our bikes where (In your opinion)?

Yes I would expect to be able to post an opinion.

Yes I would expect to be able to post an opinion.

I still dont get it????

Opinions are neither right or wrong,

Lev stated his opinion, I thought he was wrong, so my negative response to his negative opinion is not allowed?
My dad always told me two wrongs dont make a right, I just cant seem to learn that one.

Another thing my dad use to say "you want something to cry about? I'll give you something to cry about!" You think this might have been going through my mind when I read Levs first post that started this?

Thanks Dad now Where's my puppy?
