I was talking to my friend who owns Kamloops Yamaha and the XT660 Tenere is likely going to be in Canada for fall of 2008. Probably sell for around $11,000. Middle ground between KLR and KTM.

I had an old XT550, that was a prety good bike in it's day.
This 660 looks prety interesting, just may be the next pig in my barn. But for that price ($11,000)they should have some inverted forks on it
The KLR is waay too big and fugly and I don't have a verry good feeling about the KTM's reliability(I like the Jap bikes). That is what Suzuki should have done with the DR650I love my DR but it doesn't look like Suzuki is going to update it any time soon.

Ok, here's an old pic that is certainly going to date my age. Taken were we camped just before Cougar Point at the start of the High Bar Road. I'm on the right in the football jacket riding my 1979 (78?)Yamaha TT500. It was a great bike - comfy seat, larger after market tank, rack that held a case of beer. Two friends are riding Honda XL 350's and Mike in the middle is on a Honda XR500. (I think?) Jeans, western boots & what ever jackets we could find. Rebels without any gear!!!

Nice pics you both got of your old Yamaha's and just goes to show one that all bikes are fun and brings back fond memories of that era too. Here is a pic I found on the web of my model year XT600. After looking at all the pics of the 80's, it was the 87 model I had as it had the red air jams. Was a really great wheelie bike for me.

I wear less every year I ride......heck I already lived another year, and am 1 closer to the day I croak.....enjoy the ride, and worry less. :tup:
