Departed at the crack of 1030 headed towards Duffy lake and points beyond.

A big wide pic of our group at the first regroup in the very deluxe load/unload area near Duffy Lake.

the area around Duffy has seen some severe damage from fire, thankfully the main area and here in the campsite area, remains untouched.

though smiling here, (always) Mark was heartbroken to see the (at least hopefully temporary) loss of some sweet trails.

a couple of action shots that have little need for description, aside from the sometimes rather large holes in the ground from the now missing trees. (ashholes?)

It's a hard way too get a nice view, but what was formerly thick bush where you could see ten feet you can now see a long ways. And when all the charred toothpicks fall over the view will be even more clear.
A big wide shadow selfie.

We had no issues getting thru to the Tunkwa side and then across Haywood Farmer to Barnes lake, to Ashcroft for fuel and then towards home on the Back Valley road to Deadmans for some more burned out scenery. Next up and over to Red lake then a quick burn back home to the Loops.

Last pic. of the day. It's not a dirt biking pic. if there isn't someone taking a leak!

Hopefully we do not get screwed on access for the next several years. No news still on the FLNROD proposal to close all motorized access to the Interior areas that had fire restriction zones for the next several years. Will update with any official news.

most welcome Bill, nice to know there's us older folks still using the original side of DSBC rather than on the f@#$book side.
FLNROD? what's this, ongoing closures to previously closed areas? yes, please keep us informed, thx Russ.

,,,to clear any possible confusion, this is what I was referring to as "Ash-holes", or what is the remains of former trees, it was in no way, meant to be any of the riders, no way. (haha)

I know this is an old post but I just stumbled on it. I usually do one trip per year to Duffy/Tunkwa area but haven't been since covid and the fires. Sad to see. If anybody gets some trail time this spring I would appreciate an update.
