Yeah, it's quite a sight! :D

Update: DAMN....DAMN...DAMN! A toasted source-coil means that I'm going to have to withdraw from this one! DAMN...I was so looking forward to it!
Now, I'm out of action for up to TWO WEEKS!!!" quote]

Lots of after market souce coils available on the web. RM stator has a list but if your isn't listed call them as there are lots of cross overs. Some times you have to figure out the wiring but there is a good chance you can find a replacement for about 50 bucks and get it quicker than waiting from Japan.

Typically they are a little black unit about 3/4 inches square with two mouse ear mounting tabs about an inch apart and two wires coming out. As long is it matches the mounting it will likely work as they all are the same inside.

Thanks to all for the advice...the part has been ordered (and paid for) so it is just a waiting game now. The dealer is closed until Tuesday, so I had to make a snap decision at the time. It might cost me an extra $50 or so to go this route, but such is life.
This particular coil is an integral part of the stator windings (welded in place) and therefore is non-repairable/replaceable without having to replace the entire assembly. I guess it's better that it died in the driveway than 5 days ago when I was 20 miles in the bush!

I wish I could be there with you all today...have a great and safe ride!

You know, for something that you probably didn't spend too much effort on, that was pretty good! Seriously that was the gnarliest!!! We had a great time , enjoyed the route, had some BBQ, etc.. and nobody asked for anything! Thanks!

A Loop with bonus section

A Loop with bonus section

Great Ride. Thanks Dave, Laurie, and Gnarly crew.

Here is the Pre Ride Shot:

Good times in the A loop of Vedder. Too good to stop for pics. Here we're on the top of Church Mtn already:

Things began getting Gnarly on the way down. We were a bit off course here :p:

We made a few yards of trail to get out of the logging zone:

We thought we were home free but then the real Gnarly section arrived. Here is Neil  in decent mode:

From there is was mostly throttle time so not too many pics. Here is the lookout at Bridal Falls:

Again, great ride. We'll have to go back to ride the Chipmunk single track as we ran out of time.

another big thanks to Gnarly dave and crew for a gnarly day both on the trail and in the parking lot!

riders meeting

looking for a way over

,,over this pile, no fancy camera angles just a big pile of fallen trees, giver tom!

just how far can an unpiloted KTM fly, apparently pretty far.

John, happy to be back on the trail

we don't need no stinking trail, there are two bikes and at least four people in this pic, draw a line from the top guy to the bottom, yes it's vertical.

dashboard trail

Guy testing the "lighter is faster" theory, by removing some unneeded parts (horn/kickstand)

should've stopped at the horn?

a Gnarly good day, thanks to the trail guides and anyone responsible for the day, and being a desert dweller, thanks to the rain gods for taking the day off!
