Oil changed, New tire in the back, Luggage rack put back on the bike.
Getting excited. My usual riding friends couldn’t sign up in time. If anyone has space in their group and doesn’t mind me tagging along that would be great.

Thanks Russ. Riding a Xr650l, riding level probably intermediate. Not trying to win any races but definitely like a quick riding pace. Will post on the FB page as well.

Solo Intermediate rider here also, I'll be on a 990 riding not to it's potential as usual so I can arrive at the destination in one unbroken piece.
Departing from North Delta area with the downloaded track on my garmin.
I'll be carrying tools and tubes to be self sufficient.
Possibly going to trailer to Harrison if bucketing rain so my undies are dry at the start of the ride. ?

***Important to the ADV guys, plus 650cc class.

This ride is an ADV ride but it is not a beginner route, on the Kookipi Pass, on the Uztlius Pass specifically we use deactivate FSR, there can and does exist seasonal washouts and sections of baby head hill climbs. Ensure you are with a group and riding at your pace, especially in these times. There are two sections day 1 that are NOT big bike friendly and labeled in Trailforks (when it publishes) there is mapped ADV alternates.

For perspective watch this video, the section starting at 6 minutes is pertinent.

Want to join up? I’ll be carrying everything to be self sufficient as well. Commuting from van in the morning but could meet somewhere close to the start of the ride?

Riding solo on a (likely) 690 (or 990). Pretty OK rider, self sufficient. Planning on a Fri. Camp up kookoopi and meet the group as they pass thru on Sat.

Route looks awesome. Is there a way to load routes on trailforks so they all so on map at the same time? I can get them on individually but not all together. Also looks like no fuel between Boston bar and camp. Is that correct?

I did the math, looks like a 166 km stretch to the lodge. I'm good for around 200 if i behave on the throttle. Have to see if the next leg drops into Peachland for fuel, if not i'm packing my 4 litre rotopax, or I may anyway.
Also you're welcome to join up with us.

THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL TRACK, this is my interpretation of route, so use it at your own risk and be sure you know how to navigate and use GPS unit! ;)

As I didn't find Trailforks very easy to use, I have compiled segments into a GPX file(-s). It fills gaps between route parts and has 4 options:
  • #1 Too Long Days - Day 1 (BIG Bike, 4-6 hwy, no 5)
  • #2 Too Long Days - Day 1 (BIG Bike, 4-6 unverified FSR, no 5)
  • #3 Too Long Days - Day 1 (Small Bike, 4-5 HWY, includes 5)
  • #4 Too Long Days - Day 1 (Small Bike, 4-5 unverified FSR, includes 5)
All of them start in Boston Bar as it looks like Kookipi is a no go because of snow levels this year.

Russ is planning to provide update of GO/No-GO on Kookipi by the end of week as far as I know.

This is how Day 1 Options look on Google Maps:
Edit: Map has been updated to include Day 2 route as well (black color)

If you click on a track color it will be brought forward and show full route, alternatively you can un-select tracks you don't want to see in Google Maps.

GPX files attached
- FULL has all the data including separate segments and connectors between them
- Only Routes - includes only full routes 1-4

Enjoy and let me know if you find any mistakes or have any questions.
