    Gift Of An Old KLR650

Nice job restoring the bike. I had the enduro version as my first bike. Used to sand the pads and drum often to keep up the braking power. I wonder now if it even helped. Look forward to the after photos of the 650.

Squamish bound for Monday - Indian Arm and Norton Lake

Well Norton Lake has been tackled. Hold the throttle steady and feather that clutch! What a joy ride. Ten kilometres of steady climbing over every kind of rock. Loose rock, loose sandy rock and rubble. Kind of played with your mind after awhile. Then of course the "dance of the rock" coming...

Squamish bound for Monday - Indian Arm and Norton Lake

You might be right on that note. A couple I know were up that way a year past on quads. Mentioned that it was steep at points and loose. Either way will find out tomorrow. Oh, want to ask what member's name Adam has. He had that mishap in Vernon and would like to find out how he is. Thanks!

Squamish bound for Monday - Indian Arm and Norton Lake

Hey Daniel, Actually, I was intending to do the loop with you and do some camping. I can meet up with you on your end. I will be riding Indian Arm tomorrow with another confirmed rider and who ever shows up at the RV points. It is an enjoyable ride and hooks up with many other trails. Keep me...

    Bent 21" Rim

No worries there, it was a propane torch. But I know your concern had I used an oxy/acet torch. The rim is holding up well. Have put just under 2k and is running true.

Squamish bound for Monday - Indian Arm and Norton Lake

I think Norton is ok for bigger bikes. With this weather I am going to shoot up there again to Indian Arm and Norton Lake, this Thursday. If you're open I can meet up at the United Church and Taylor Way (9am), West Vancouver or the first gas station is Squamish, below the Chief (10am). Of...

Squamish bound for Monday - Indian Arm and Norton Lake

No salmon to speak of, although I was more focused on the scenery. And after looking at some maps my trek to Norton Lake I had taken the wrong turn at the fork. So just as well I turned around. Another item, it looks like these roads run quite a ways east. Would like to explore these sometime.

Squamish bound for Monday - Indian Arm and Norton Lake

Great ride today up to Indian Arm and almost to Norton Lake. Lots of running water on the road from the rains but passable. Was by myself and no GPS so turned around about 7K mark heading to Norton Lake. Ran into a trio of DualsportBC riders who I met in Vernon last week. Also out enjoying the...

    The Adventure Bike Gathering!

The gathering shared some trails with interesting locals. This was a head scratcher. A homemade 3 ton backcountry RV/popup camper?

    The Adventure Bike Gathering!

What a pleasure to take part in the gathering. Great trails, good food and a really fun group of riders! Will be back next year. Also, a shout out to the three fellas from Van, North Van and Bowen island who stopped to help me make some clutch adjustments from the side of the road. Thank...

    Bent 21" Rim

Success! Took the spokes off and had the rim in the vice. Was able, with a little flame, to get the rim somewhat truer. Re-laced the spokes and about two hours later had the rim back to almost original condition. Still, will order a new rim/spokes for next season.

    The Adventure Bike Gathering!

Keeping my fingers crossed for Wednesday. Rebuilt the front tire and realized the front axle was also bent. Working on that at present. Will let you know tomorrow pm if it is a go for me. Is Adam planning on attending? I will bring along his gas can and straps from the last outing.

    Bent 21" Rim

2015 Honda CRF250L. Dropped it off a a shop this morning and they gave it a go with no results. I am thinking it is a liability for them if they can't get it to tight tolerance. So, plan "a", I might just as well give it a try myself. The hub and spokes are fine. And if need be, start the...

    Bent 21" Rim

Had a crash, trail riding last week, and the bike (CRF250) suffered a bent rim. Looks to be around a 1/4" run out on about a third of the rim No noticeable crimps or buckles. Rode home on hard top most of the way at posted highway speeds with only a mild wobble. Wheel bearings, axle and look...
