More Prayers have been sent for your Daughter. She's in good hands.

Don't worry about the BMW.
I have a tow rope on my KLR:D

Will be Orbiting the Huston Command Center on #60 about June 10/12 give or take.
As I mentioned in the other thread it's snowing past the circle so I may continue on to Prudhoe bay rather than push the Dempster.
Sooo, Central America next year????;)

C/B Orbit signing off.

Erronous Monk and I are booked to be in Prince Rupert the night of June 17th. We will be looking for a few things to do in the area till we meet up on the 19th. So at this point how many and who is currently confirmed for the outing. Please forward a contact number so that we can meet up.

Cheers, blocker

Just to let you guys know I am not sure on Proudman but DrBike is now out after suffering an injury to his shoulder on the weekend. He is still away from the computer for a day or two so you may not hear it from him until then. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

That is most unfortunate, hope that it is not serious. What has happened to the other 3-4 fellows that were intending to go? Is Proudman still in?

DrBike told me that he was considering coming to Inuvik with us but with his truck. While I would rather have Paul riding with us instead of behind us, having a chase car could be a good thing:hf:.

This ride is (almost) all I have been thinking about...I am in for sure and things are coming together. Haven't overpacked yet..still some things to add, but I'm almostthere. Sounds like I will be riding out to Terrace/Kitwanga solo now.

I couldleave as early as the 18; probably only as far as Houston though :hb:? What a shame Doc...speedy recovery to you. Safe to assume Mss Piggy had something to do with this?

That is great. It looks like there are 4 of us for sure---- any more considering coming??? If so lets hear from you. I will be leaving Richmond on June 16th meeting Erronous Monk in Comox and taking the ferry on the 17th to Prince Rupert. So we will be in the Terrace area ready to go as of the morning of the 18th. I am definitely looking forward to this outing.

AKLR came thru PG loaded for bear the week before last headed to AK. He had a faulty TKC 80 front tire and was about to changeit fora Gripster he bought from Cycle North. He only had a sidestand...that gave me night-mares. I offered my carport, lift, torque wrench (along with coffee) and tire irons and got them on the road again.

My centre stand arrived today and is now on the bike. Might be able to get the 18th off entirely...that could get me into Terrace for the early afternoon or we could meet at Kitwanga. The count-down has begun...

If the guy had a painted satin black '08 KLR with a tall windshield and an extension ...then I met him here in Terrace. He spoke very well of you and was very appreciative of your assistance. He said he was about to do the work roadside and bad weather was approaching and your offer came at just the right time. He said he met a few very nice people like you along the way and had a great trip.

Have a great (and safe) trip!

That was him; you would have met Greg then with the 1150GS.Seemed like good guys themselves. I would hope no-one would leave me out in the rain either. Robertfrom MTR Sports sent a pm last night and was in Dawsonthen the Dempster today. The weather has been brilliant for the last 2-weeks...hope it holds.

I will not be going to Inuvik this year :(.

I'm not happy about it but I have family obligations.

On the bright side, I will be in Terrace from the 17th to the 20th, so anyone coming through is still welcome to stay here.

I will have to settle for photos and a detailed ride report so I can start planning next years trip to Inuvik.

That is unfortunate Proudman. I do have my eyes on, and time off in the middle of September. My thoughts were a ride out West to steelhead fish and I see the Telkwa ride falls in there too. Talk about timing!!!Spoke with DrBikes daughter this morning...I'm am now up-to-speed...what did you guys do to him? Busy here getting last minute items together...packing as if I'm travelling North by myself, yet trying not to include too much. Plan on taking lots of pictures, as well as hooking a big-fat-pike on the fly. When I'm back, I'll post the details of the trip. Enjoy the QCI...I'd love to be there!

Who's left out there for Inuvik?

Proudman.

Blocker and I will look you up on or about the 20th. We will meet on the 16th, then the ferry on the 17th. If there are no others to wait for, we will stop by and then probably start our way to Inuvik and other points north.

Familly first is the lasting spiritual.

So the Inuvik trip is now:

  • Blackdog
  • Erronus Monk
  • Blocker
Canadian Bacon is headed north, but on a different schedule.

Does anyone want a copy of my MapSource file?

Does anyone on the trip have a GPS? If so can you save any waypoints of interesting places or turnoffs for me?
Thanks.

I have a GPS that might do the waypoint thing. It is a TomTom. It knows where it is, but does not 'track'. I hope to also have my laptop track with MS-StreetsNTrips, but that software is also an install problem last effort.

I do have a SPOT, so you will be able to monitor my/our position via a web page that we will start at your house.

:)

3 is a very good group size.

I have a Garmin 60CSx and have had the Mapsource Topo maps for BC/Yukon installed recently; sounds like your file will work on mine.Would also like to includeAlaska and the NWT...Proudman are you able to help there?I will get you the POI's I find.Spoke to drbike today andat this point I will be going as far as Houston on the 18th and will stay over-night at his place. I'd leave early on the 19th to be in Terrace for 9 am. Does that work for everybody?

I have a Garman 276C with the new set of Canadian TOPO loaded. I should be able to track routes. Will play with it in Terrace.

The 19th at 9:00am would work for me. As we will be in Prince Rupert the night of the 17th. Sorry to hear that Proudman will not be making it. I hope that we can pick up all the info of the planned route.
