As those of you who have been around the DSBC site will know, I have been down to Baja Several times since 2000. In fact I have a blog on this site on the first Baja trip I recorded with pictures in 2002. I am lucky enough to be semi retired and have the time to take several months off away from home in Kamloops. As we are on a limited income these days we decided to rent out our house for the 5 months we will be traveling. We have had rental property for many years so the idea of renting out our own place was not an issue, not to mention the extra money would make the trip pretty easy financially.
So the rough plan is to leave Kamloops November 30 2018 and travel to Surrey, there we will stay for a week while we wait for my long time ridding buddy Vern Bell ( does not ride anymore, the ravages of many years on dirt bikes and living hard are taking a toll) He will be traveling from his place in 108 mile and meet with us. He is traveling on his own with a Dodge 3500 and Travel Trailer.
From Surrey we will be traveling to see our friends of the Oakland Motorcycle Club, Oakland California. We have a 30 year plus relationship with this club and have made many many friends here over the years, after about a week here we will be heading to Baja, this is where the plans become a little more open.
Getting ready for this multi month trip has taken way more time than I expected, we rented our house out for December 1 and we had to be out. Had to get the bike ready, I am taking the Husqvarna TE310, small light and street legal. I had Geoff from GP Moto https://www.gpmoto.ca do the entire once over on the bike including the suspension. Time to get a new plate
Loaded all our personal belongings into the basement (did not realise we had this much personal stuff)
