Ho-K, time for a little more truth and consequence....
Hawk, does it really only get 85 km on a tank (8.5l)?

Since extra fuel capacity still involves volunteering for the self-immolation league by strapping a bunch of fuel bottles to one's carcass, I think you should come clean on this....:mad3:

I test rode the G450 at the nu-b ride, and was very impressed. :dr:Amazing power, everywhere, and smooth - less buzzy, and at least as stable as the DRZ at highway speed. Felt like the gear ratios (its a 5 speed WR) offered at least as much range as the Husky 6speed CR, or the DRZ.

I don't think I would consider getting a non-FI bike, after riding it and its big bro, the 650.

What I really wonder about is its handling: After moving up to a 650 single DS bike, I've become aware of the effects of larger rotational mass. It can really mess you up when things get gnarly (read - lotzodrops). Hence, the 09 Husaberg 450 claim of getting this aligned with the center of gravity for the flickability of a 250 2-smoke sounds really appealing.:ted:

DID BMW obtain the same objective with its radical engine and mounting? I mean, who (so inclined) WOULDN'T buy a super fast, super handling, street legal 450 for those nasty Island "B" (and DZ A loops)?

Inquiring minds wanna know.

We sent out new BMW 450 on its 2 hour break in on Saturday and the customer absolutely loved it (before he was riding a KTM250 as well as owning a GS1200adv)

The thing he liked the most was the tank being under the saddle and not up front allowing him to slide much more forward and swing the back end around quicker

Also as far and the balance and weight seemed as good as his 250 and at some points forgot he was riding a 450...until he pulled the trigger

Also as far as rotational mass the 450 is different in that the clutch is a tiny 5 plate guy ran off the crank (not the tranny after the primay reduction) lowering rotating mass

Overall very happy and satisfyed

Ok, good report but what happens when he hits the motor on a rock with that fancy "plastic bash plate"?

I just had my husky stolen and am looking at the 450 but the exposed motor is turning me off. Riding in dunes is great but we are in the mountains covered with nasty hard stuff.
