Haha, It looks like i missed all the fun in this post
Just to set things straight My Xcoutry weighs 350lbs (90 more than the 450) and has 10 fewer ponies, with my full nobbies on it and geared down a bit it hits the rev limiter at 175km/h in top gear, i'm sure with the extraponies and some SuMo gear i could get the 450 breaking 200km/h...
Another point...This BULL about the max cruising speed of the 450 being "70-80 km/h" is pissing me off. out of everyone that ive talked to with a 450 still haven't met this warning light and have broken the 120km/h "BMW 450 warrenty destroyer" wall and no problems.
From what i understand, if the bike is WFO (wide f**kin open) for more and a reasonable amount of time (reguardless of speed) the bike will give you a warning saying "hey...you should slow down cuz' this isent the best for me" and if you still keep ringing the bikes neck wide open it just puts a kind note in the computer saying that the rider has been using the bike for 24 hours of LeMans, not enduro riding. The reason for this is to preserve the 3 year warrenty (which NOBODY else even comes close to offering in this class of bike...did i mention the NOBODY)
A final point, you need to find a bike that fits you...my xcountry fits me and what i do and how i ride like a glove, if i was to have 2 bikes i would have a new F800GS and a G450X...since i dont have 30 grand to spend the xcountry is the bike for me
PS about this "fuzzies" business... If your not prepared to have yor "hobby" questioned or brought up...put a pic of your bike like everyone else...if i put up a pictured labelled "I love HARLEY'S" i would be prepared to defend my position...
Rant over, The Yak
