Hi John, I also remember this area from the 70's. I rode the road from Darcy to Seaton Portage in my pickup and I've always wanted to go back up there. So if you guys don't mind me tagin along, I'm ready to go. I'll be riding my KLR which is good for 350+ km. June 9/10 is OK for me. I'll try to keep up, but I tend to be a bit of a caboose.

Hi Bryn, great to have you along. I'll mark you down as confirmed. Don't worry about being the "caboose". This isn't going to be a race, or an adrenaline rush. What it is intended to be is a fun, sightseeing trip through some of best scenery this province to offer.

Anybody who wants to do this ride WFO should talk to Franhoser. He and some others were talking about doing it all in one day and that would pretty much mean going like a bat outa hell the whole way - and that's not what our ride is about.

John, that's good to hear, that's excactly what I'm looking for. I'm always a 'C' rider who likes to take pictures along the way. I'm going to bring a little camping gear just in case there is limited accomodation in Seaton or Lillooet.

The camping gear is a good idea Bryn, there is one other rider, and maybe more, who want to camp. I know there is a nice campground at Seton and I would be surprised to find out that there isn't camping facilities at Lillooet. But considering where we're going and what our transportation is I don't think finding a place to pitch a tent will be a problem, developed campground or not.

There could be close to a dozen or so riders on this trip so it's altogether possible that we might split up at Seton with some of us staying there for the night and the rest moving on to Lillooet and then re-connecting the next day. These are all decisions that will have to be made as the ride progresses.

We've now got seven riders going on this trip. They are:

Farp
Phoenix
One Lung
The Count
Eagle Guy
Zeddy
Westcoast

We are going on June 9, 10 and leaving the Sasquatch Inn at 9:00AM.

Looking good, guys.

Here's the revised route. We are no longer crossing the river at Lytton and riding down #1 to Boston Bar. Instead we are taking the Texas Creek road west of the Fraser all the way to the Nahatlatch FSR. The only paved section of the trip will be the 40km between Mt. Currie and D'Arcy.

I've changed the GPS file of this ride so that it now shows the ride down the west side of the Fraser from Lytton to Nahatlatch instead of down Hw1 to Boston Bar as was originally shown.

Here's the link to the new GPS file:

bike.stu.ph is a great site for sharing GPS files. Upload your favourite rides and download favourites posted by others. I highly recommend it.

I haven't heard anything yet. I expect Kookipi is still snowed in and probably won't be open til mid May. I'll see what I can find out in a month or so.

We've now got 7 people signed on for this ride with another rider definitely going if he can get time off work. Any more than about 10 or so riders is going to start causing problems with lodgings. Also, if it's dry and dusty we'll likely have to split the ride up into smaller groups so, ideally, we'd like to keep the group down to no more than about 10 riders.

The magnificent seven :>) are:

Farp
Phoenix
The Count
One Lung
Eagleguy
Zeddy
Westcoast

Motorambler has been keen to go right from the start and will be there if he can get time off work.

Well, going by my long range work schedule, I have those days off and would like to join the ride. (Although I could have to work at the last minute, such is my work.)

I will bring a sleeping and bivy bag so I will be able to sleep anywhere.

Well, I just had some nice surgery last week and recovery time (6-8 weeks) might be close.

I really want to go so I'll have to be careful not to setback myself back any over the next month or so.

Take care, Eric, get well soon.

We now have 9 riders signed on for the trip. Caribooster (Brad) is our latest addition. We also have a couple of other riders who are going to go if they can get the time off work, so we've got just about all the riders we can handle.

Riders,
I believe there IS camping at Lillooet:
- Cayoosh Creek campgrounds is on the west side of the river just as you cross the bridge over the Fraser;
- There is a Hydro campground on the west side of town on the Duffy Lake road just before the big switchback up the hill ....south side of road

Thanks for the info motoged, much appreciated.

I've been through Lillooet enough to know that there are several motels and at least one hotel there so I'm not very concerned about finding lodging, especially since we're going mid-week. I thought it might be a good idea to wait until the exact number of people going on the ride is known before any decision about booking rooms is made. In any case, Caribooster has informed me he has contacts in Lillooet and will look into lodging for us.

Once again, thanks for your input.

I just received an email from Caribooster with some great news re lodging in Lillooet. Here is what he had to say:

I have good news on the accomidations in Lillooet. I touched base with my contact today and he advised me that he knows the owner of the Reynolds Hotel. They have a small locker that will be able to safely store the most of the MCs overnight. Any of the bikes that do not fit in the locker we will be able to lock up in his shop. I will be calling the hotel for more information tomorrow. As far as accomidations go do you feel the guys will want to share rooms or will they want individual rooms. I will confirm rates tomorrow however we should budget on $50 each for sharing a room or $100 for a single occupancy. I would be willing to share a room with someone for the trip. Any idea on how many rooms we will need?
So far the confirmed riders for the trip are:

Farp
Phoenix
The Count
One Lung
Eagle Guy
Zeddy
Westcoast

Caribooster

Please let me know your preferences re individual accomodation, sharing a room, or camping ASAP. I know we were originally going to wing it re accomodations but this is such a good deal with the bike security I think we'd be nuts to pass it up. I'll start the ball rolling with my preferences:

Farp - prefers an individual room but willing to share if need be.
Caribooster - willing to share.

Things are looking good, guys, gonna be a great trip!
