Here is the up-to-date status of this ride:

A recon ride up to Kookipi yesterday (June 6) revealed that the Kookipi route is impassable due to snow (see ride report at the end of this thread), so a major change of plans has been made.

At present there are two groups of riders going to Lillooet from different starting places. One group will be riding the sea to sky hwy to Mt Currie and proceeding to Lillooet via the Seton Hi-line route. This group will be meeting at the Church parking lot on the corner of Upper Levels Hwy and Taylor Way at 10:00am

The other group will be meeting in Boston Bar and proceeding to Lillooet via the Texas Creek route. This group will meet at the bridge at 11;00AM. The Boston Bar group will get to Lillooet in the early afternoon and will likely do some extra riding, to be determined upon arrival at Lillooet.

Due to the re-scheduling the fuel requirement has been reduced. You now need enough fuel to take you 160 km.

The Lytton ferry will be out of service from May 26 til the end of June.

Ride Details

As of 9:30Pm Tuesday June 8

Farp, Phoenix, Eagle Guy, Westcoast, Know Fear, WJM, and One Lung will meet at the Boston Bar Bridge at 11:00am Wed morning and ride up to Lillooet via the Texas Creek route.

Old Phart, wjm, Kid Callahan, North, and Waltermitty will meet at the Church parking lot on the corner of Upper Levels and Taylor way at 10:00 am and ride the sea to sky to Mt Currie where they will meet The Count and Zeddy, and then on to Lillooet via the Seton Hi-Line route.

We have good news from Caribooster regarding the accomodations in Lillooet. Here's the situtation with the Reynolds Hotel as of April 16, 2010:

Actually there are only 10 rooms and one was already gone so I took the remaining 9. I have negotiated a group rate under "Dualsport BC" which saves us about 15%. Std rate is $99 and I have carved a rate of $85/room for the group. This rate is the same regardless of whether you have single or double occupany. The block booking is being held until next Wednesday (April 21,2010). so if you are serious, call the hotel and book yourself a room. The number is 1-877-655-5506, the hotel is The Reynolds Hotel, and the room rate is above. Be sure to mention The group booking "Dualsport BC" or they will advise you that they are full for June 9th. They have 3 rooms with one bed, 3 with 2 beds, one with 3 beds and one with 1 bed and 1 hide-a-bed remaining.

Hey John,

That sounds like fun.

My days off are never the same, but if I am off. I would like to go.

I did this exact route a few years ago and stayed in a motel in Seton Portage. At the time there were 2, and one had a restaurant.

If i end up with the time I'll join.

I'm interested too. I've done this loop as a day ride as well. Great riding and scenery - Definitely one of my favorites.

Aaron and Mathew - can you tell us how long it took you to do the loop? I was thinking it would be a two day ride but if it can be done in a day that would make coordinating everyones time off a lot easier. Also, everybody, let's decide on a date for the ride. I'm open to ride 7 days/week and would prefer mid-week but I wouldn't object to doing it on a weekend.

I think sometime in June would probably work the best. That ensures that all the snow will be gone and it gives the road crews time to repair any winter washouts. If we leave it later in the summer we might wind up with fire closures.

Aaron - are you still on the Serow and if so would you be using it on this ride?

I sold the serow this spring, so I'd do it on my berg. If it was to be a one day ride I would go for sure. Doing over 2 days is alot harder for me to co-ordinate. That being said, to do it as one day would require leaving Harrison early morning and getting home late. I did it in a group of 6 guys last time. No flats, no breakdowns and both days were pretty full.

June would be an ideal time. I would prefer mid-week to avoid the traffic on both Harrison FSR's.

I would definitely be open to a mid week ride, it's much more enjoyable without the yahoos out there. It's also a good excuse to take a day off of work

I just looked at the distances involved and the riding time. The round trip loop is about 365 miles and it would probably take about 14 to 15 hours - including meal breaks etc, and then we still have to get home from the Sasquatch Inn. That's too far and too long for me to consider doing in one day, so it's gonna have to be an overniter. The two likely motel stops are at Seton Portage and Lillooet, I really don't want to tent it. Breaking it up into two days is gonna give us a lot more time to enjoy the scenery, take pics etc.

Aaron,

One day, fast hard riding. 400 miles. I'd be in.

I'd be in for an overnighter because I'd want to stop an take pics, etc along the way, so doing it in 1 day isn't likely.

One day or 2, I'll be waiting to see how things shake down closer to the date of departure. Here's hoping for an early melt.....

I'm interested in the two day mid week in June idea. If Franhoser does it in one day he could book our rooms for us ahead of time:p. I'm already booked for time off the week of June 7th and June 14th.

Cheers, Alex.

Hey Lev, the only thing you've got time for is changing diapers hahaha. Hmmmm......maybe that's why you were telling me you were gonna shoot some sh1t at the flat tire social last Sunday, was that it?

Alex, that time frame works, and mid-week too whoohoo!!! How about it guys, who else can get a couple of days mid-week for the weeks of June 7 - June 14?
