Husqvarna 701 Clutch Slave Cylinder

The clutch on my 701 failed while deep off road leaving me in a bad predicament. I understand this is a weakness of the bike. Can anyone recommend an upgrade to the 701 clutch system?

I don’t see how the seal got damaged. I wonder if it was during manufacturing. I haven’t lost any fluid yet. Thanks for the heads up. I think there’s an o ring under the damaged seal. What’s your delivery time from blue streak? I left a message with them as well. Just waiting to hear back.

The clutch slave got shipped from Blue Streak on Dec 17th so I have not got it yet. I know Blue Streak (Tony) has stock so it would be the current shipping time for stuff coming from back east.
Apparently the seal damage occurs a lot but the Oberon is a different seal design and material which is more reliable. Time will tell I guess. Husqvarna should do something, it is hurting them.

Got my Oberon slave today. Here is what the seal looks like. Not much different from JeremyDR200SE's photo ... Let's hope the difference is in the reliability!IMG_0971.JPG

My 2019 FE 450 clutch slave failed at 50hrs. Replaced with Oberon and it has worked fine. Now at 100hrs.962AA97A-64E0-4EB2-AB0C-AEFD0F06A0F4.jpeg81D80237-71F7-431A-AAEE-BC5D4784E0AC.jpeg

From what I’ve been reading the clutch slave issue crops up early or it’s good if it doesn’t. Glad to hear the replacement worked out well. Some have done the recluse slave as an alternative I believe.

I changed out the clutch slave cylinder on my 2018 690R at 21,000 KM for piece of mind.
I ordered an Oberon CLU-1000 from TripleClampMoto and received it within 2 days
Stock cylinder looked decent, but piston accordion rubber was beginning to swell.
Tranny now upshifts allot better, was previously notchy on upshifts

Husky and KTM have a recall on the slave unit. Here is what the new replacement slave cylinder looks like:

This has been a problem for years with Magura. Glad KTM / Husky are FINALLY doing something about it. They blew me off when my 701 failed so I went with Oberon.

Chiming in late, but better late then never I hear.

2019 690 here, same issue. Stock slave went kaput <20 hours on the bike. Went with the Rekluse over the Oberon due to serviceability and availability of parts from Rekluse via Mongoose. So far so good and also seems to be better shifting.
