Hello everyone,
I'm a long time road rider thinking of trying out some dual sport riding. I normally go on longer 2-up trips with my wife but I've been considering doing some dual-sport riding and looking forward to it all. Our touring trips mostly are paved but we've had to navigate some FSR, sand and pebblely (I'm not even sure what its called) sections in the past.
I'm really looking for rides that end with some camping, or a good location to have lunch or go for a walk. Not looking to ride during the pandemic or cause any strain on the system so this is all pretty forward thinking at this time as we could be in this state for a while.
Prior to COVID-19 I was looking into places / courses on dual sport riding to learn something new as well as maybe connect with others that are looking to do the same thing. Now that these plans might be all paused until 2021, I figure that its a good chance to do a lot of research into all of it.
I've been mostly thinking of the CRF250 Rally due to the range and cheap insurance, but the KLX230 and DRZ400S were also on my list.
I don't currently have any real off-road experience on a motorcycle, but I'm not looking to hit speed records but enjoy the destination as well as the ride to get there.
Hope everyone is doing well,
Brad
