the last Klr was getting a little long in the tooth for a planned upcoming trip, so Cathouse Willy kindly parted with his very low KM 2007 to fit the bill.
The pic. is the starting shot of my very nice looking bike with the racks, nerf bars, breakaway mirrors, tool tube, centerstand and skid plate on, all the needed mods and many more will be done to turn this into a capable continent wanderer. After two previous kLr's I can say this one handles WAY better than either of the last, whether it's the fork brace, progressive springs up front or the beefy Eibach rear spring (quite stiff) or the combination of, it quite astonishingly, almost goes exactly where pointed, unlike my last 130 thou K's spent on noodley Klr's on and off-road, this one actually handles pretty darn good, and on the street it's almost, (insert shock here) confidence inspiring. The before I fiddle with it fuel mileage is up from the last one with 370k to 415k to reserve , the last klR has a shimmed needle and opened airscrew (punched airbox) and piped, this one has only the opened box, we'll see about the rest, fuel economy is important for this bike.
Anyways here's the "ta-da" picture, it is after all just a Klr.

thx. fer lookin, now get out and ride.

You all would be surprised at how many new jerseys I have, they actually seem to be multiplying.

My new to me KLr, at closing in on to 17 thou. k's is almost broken in now. After touring the Montana idaho and wash. backroads twice I'm hoping all the bugs have been worked out, as the real adventure is just ahead. I will not even hint at the hours put into prepping the bike and think that most things should be taken care of,,

Fuel economy has gone down though not drastically, the slide got drilled, needle shimmed, opened fuel screw (and adjustable screw installed), replaced the broken Doo, and the list goes on, and on. Accessory wise, it got a higher windshield w/fake laminar lip, a chopped and channeled Dr. Lee seat, slammed front fender, heated grip/vest, tank bag inverter, LED battery monitor (somewhat paranoya inducing), LED lights (flood/spot), and a "measly" two PVC tubes, the mondo big one up front for heavy things, and the smaller but longer one out back for the tent poles, custom wind deflector courtesy of Cactus collision (located on Laval Cres. for your convienience).

do these boxes make my "donkey" look big?

I know, your all saying "where can I get a pair of those slippers", but this pic. is to show the single lonely chunk of pipe mounted out back. And speaking of the slippers, I know you waaant them.

And that is it, for the new to me KlR thread. But, as this was after all a project with a mission, one that should rack up in the range of 25 thou. K's.
Five of Kamloop's vetern Baja riders (emphisis on vetern) will head south, waay south. Floyd Reeves, Robin Muglich, Mark Porier, Wayne Smith, and should he be released from a mexican jail in time to race the Baja 1000 in the over 60 class next week (they don't have a class fo rhis decade), then drive home in his new truck, (hint), change his clothes then join the group for the drive south, will be Al Perret.
After Driving to Phoenix and unloading 5 bodies out of a most likely smelly crew cab, unload the assorted years of kLr's, gas them up, and go fro tacos across the border.
Thru mex. and on thru central america to Panama, fly them to Columbia to the South. As a general plan we will travel to Tiera del Fuego and across to Buenos Aries, crossing the Andes as many times as possible over roads with names like Camino de Muerte (road of death which can be found in Bolivia AND costa rica) , easy as pie, right. This will continue in the "Adventures" category and you are all invited to come along for the ride to wherever it may lead us!

thx. Wayne
P.S. the following teaser picture is not staged, it is actually how I found Marks bike when we were having a "meeting" last week. A pic. that has adventure written all over it.
