It's not so much that they are applying the brakes, but that they are told to STOP(read as keep that axel on the scale) so they put the brake pedal to the floor and it locks the brakes on the truck...what does a loaded semi weigh, 60,000lbs?...there is a lot of twisting that goes on there! They are only mechanical parts and I think it severly loads the brake components for no reason. How many times have u seen a semi's shattered brake drum laying on the side of the hi-way?
Hey I could be wrong , but ride ur bike on the pavement in say 3rd or 4th gear at 60 kph. Then hold the throttle full on and start popping the clutch 15 or 20 times while hitting red line(shock load the drive train)....lets see if something gives.
This is just from a mechanic's point of view.
