Count me in. I will be coming up from Victoria on the 25th.
Paul
PS are the rides still big bike friendly? I haven't spent much time off road since I got the f800gs and I don't want to bend it so early in our relationship.

There is one ruff section about 50 m long,2km of grass/moss covered old logging road with the odd water bar on it to get to cabin and about 150km of everyday gravel logging road around trip to get to the lookout.

Count me in mike, i really enjoyed riding over there last year and would like to do it again.
Hopefully no crazy women drivers will be on that road this time, one vehicle doing cartwheels in the air
10 ft from my side window is enough for me for awhile.
Brian.

Well the good doctor in Campbell told me to day I should be able to get my cast off in 3 weeks. So if all's well I should make it out. Someone remind me to take it easy though...

I am hoping to come for the ride but I have a few questions. 1.How far is the motel from the campsite? 2. how far (distance and time) is it from Campbell river to Tahsis?
Thanks

Hi Bones
Glad to hear you are coming out for the ride. The Tahsis motel is 5 minutes from the campsite, which borders the inlet. The tenters will have a big fire pit and beautiful view of the water and mountains. I would plan on 2 1/2 hours from Campbell River. Remember that there are cagers hauling boats into Tahsis, and other tourists as well, so best to keep it down a bit on the Gold River/Tahsis run. Enjoy the waterfalls and scenery on your way in.

To shave some time off of the trip I used to take the Elk River Timber logging road just out of C.R. There was a gate about half way but it shouldn't be a problem on a bike plus it adds that adventure feel!

Hope to make the run

Max

I don't think you can get through Elk River anymore as the park had it deactivated close to the Gold River end...

Well I guess the last time I used that road WAS about 18 years ago. Too bad it's a good view going over the bridge between Upper + Lower Campbell river.
