thx again bill.
Arrived in yuma around 3 after an uneventful but grueling truck ride down (thx for the truck Mark). The US border crossing was a yawn, as if we woke the fella from a sleep, couldn't have been easier. spending the best part of thirty hours gave the, new to kLr riders some time to give their bikes monikers, flattering names such as "Kan't Launch Rapidly" and "Kinda Lame Ride" and the like. ran into an out of gas kLr rider near calexico and was able to help him along his way, he told us of his travels thru the Americas and it really serves to put some enthusiastic grins on our faces, we're really going to do this!
As unreal as it seemed we ended up staying in not 1 but 2 "Relax Inns", which provided non of the advertised relaxation, perhaps we should have mentioned that we would have liked fresh beds in rooms that actually were non smoking within the last century and maybe some heat would be nice, and at a price that was more appropriate to the condition of the room.
this first pic is at the first "relax" inn two hours from California.
the bikes unloaded in Yuma at Marks brothers place.
Al is so excited to get on his high powered Klr and ride.
fuzzy group photo as the sun sets just before stuffing our faces.
Yummy country style ribs for dinner, thanks Amy and Susan!
next post from somewhere in Mexico, hasta luego!
