Ok I have been following this thread quietly but I can't hold back any more!!!
What's all the talk about racing a ktm 950, a hp2, and a klr? what a group of slugs. Why don't we race Winnebago's while we are at it? Oh I know we can throw in a couple of dorks on custom Harley's that think they are fast too.
I really think most of the Dualsport guys need to stop drinking while they are on this forum. It really seems to affect their judgement. It might be the fact that it has been raining for 30+ days and most of us haven't ridden and we are starting to go stir crazy. I meanhow else could you think KLR's could win a race against any thing other than a Vespa.
now as for Hooligan. I usually enjoy your ability to stirr it up a little. I know I have had many a chuckle reading posts you are involved in. that being said what is this about the 24 hour marathon?? don't you mean the 12 hour marathon as I do believe you packed up and left looooooong before the mud fest had ended. That's right you never know who is watching.

Oh If we are racing up some little hill on the island for pinks count me and my CRF450X in.
All in good fun, Yours truly

The 24/12 hour marathon....Clarification::tup:You boys are confusing DIRT bikes with DUAL SPORT bikes.:hb:
I think I was on the smallest team (grand total of 3), all on real bikes not little put put 450's and smaller..:mb:We all had at least 600cc to deal with, we did the B course for about 2 hours when one of my team mates decided we are heading for a ....:wi:...through the night. We then changed along with other teams also on putput's....
Being 3 members on real bikes we had our work cut out....:tup:20 minutes on 40 off etc....then after 7pm and my 3rd official warning.....yeah, for speeding can you imagine that, I thought it was a race. I was also penalised for lapping the course too fast,I decided this was no more fun....

...at this point I decided to retire to a good bottle of PORT. My SMALL team was placed 2nd at this stage, thanks to us being able to hande the real bikes and keep the name of the real DUAL SPORT BIKES high.:tup:After all any one can get onto a feather light dirt bike and buzz around a dirt track...whooopty dooooo
You all know I am on a KTM, and no it did not breakdown but I have been experiencing some bad gas after filling with a dirty can earlier that day.....
However, having said all that....I did not see one BMW within 100 miles of that track....:wi:..wonder why not? I saw plenty of putput's, but then again if you can't keep a big bike on the dirt I guess you try something smaller until to find something small enough that you could live with.:mb::mb::mb::mb::mb::mb:...or is that a DIRT bike...?:wi:
I look forward to a real DUAL SPORT team this year...with decent bikes, no not putput's but real DUAL SPORT bikes that has actually seen some km's (and no not on the back of your truck) but a bike that left Vancouver and covered say 10000km in 2 weeks. Or that has actually seen foreign soil, not with luggage on a chase vehicle and not sleeping in a Hotel......
BMWNutt I would consider it an honour to team up with you on that HP2 in my team this year, how about it? We could break some speed records:hb:I think we should have a DSBC600+ team....
Like I always say, what is the best dirt bike onroad, and the best road bike offroad?......yes, a couple of you got that right....a KTM....:shoot:
LET THE GAMES BEGIN......(if you can't handle the heat, don't get involved here..) ...and please don't bitch from the side line....:dr::dr::dr::tup::tup:
