OK, so one thing at a time. Well 6 pints when I was younger back in Blighty.
Prior to the stripdown, I tried the stock forks 3/4" down through the clamps and found the handling much better, particularly on the pavement at higher speeds. I was therefore pleased that WP forks were longer, particularly in view of the extra 1" at the rear. I am expecting some dificulty with the extra height as I am only 5'9", but am taking the view that if I have a problem, I can always go down on the seat height which I was going to leave until last anyway.
Hey Paul, thats a great looking bike !. I guess that your bike is what sensible peole get instead of trying to turn their KLR into one!! How do you post pictures on this forum ?

Thats funny. Years ago I road with a good buddy who got mad everytime anyone mocked Kawasaki.:mad3:
He'd Get upset everytime Ismoked him throughan intersection..He Had a 1000R and a ZX11..I still Chuckle because IRode a 82 Yamaha XT 550..No Ship..! He was an OK rider he just couldnt launch worth a crap!..I'd only beat him by a 1/2 bike length. every time.He he would get pissed ..haha:dude:

His needs are very offroad, and this bike is a good solution. Money was obviously not an issue, and he modified his XR to be quite the offroad adventure touring machine. Dollars and cents he probably has a $10,000 CDN bike, but may just be one of the holy grails of dual sport. Check out Gerardo "Hey-rard-doh" Ibarra "Ee-bar-rah"'s bike here.

Hey, I agree! I can't think of a bike that would suit me "perfect" if money were no option even! So far I can't just keep adding bikes to the stable until all my needs are met, so I must pick one and mod it to suit my riding.
Nobody take offence here, but I know guys that buy the same bike as me and then get the suspension "done". You have about 90 clicks combined suspension adjustment already, wtf are you doing? There are KLRs w/o any clicks, just the addition of "clicks" would be a significant upgrade.
