9 AM on Monday July26, meet up at the parking lot of st David's church (at Taylor way and upper levels highway) in North Van.
Start at Furry creek and go above Britania or explore new logging roads east of Furry. All levels welcome, but this will be a no pressure type of ride. (challenge yes pressure no) I just can't ride as hard as I used to.
I'm very flexible on the date or time, so post up or PM me and lets have a fun ride.

über newbie chiming in - and hoping to join in, provided my tires arrive in time. Mike was kind enough to put up with me (and my street tires) last time, and I've since realized how insane that was, so I'm awaiting a pair of Heidenau's ! If they show, I will too !

Definitely big bike friendly. Last time Mark managed it just fine on a BMW twin, and I used to ride there regularly on a KLR (in those pain free days when I could move like a normal person). There seems to be some interest in this ride, so I will definitely be there on Monday, but would like to move the time to 9AM (more riding time, less heat), so chime in if interested.

this sounds fun..I might be in. just to confirm, its mainly forest roads, or trails... I'm getting some dual sport tires put on the vstrom and want to try her off road. I couldn't do single track on her.

Monday July 26th... I should be able to make it. Tho, I have street tires on the bike now. If it rains then I'm out.

FSR's and easy trails for the main route, with the choice to try some of the more challenging side trails.

it looks like i can't go afterall. my rear wheel is being re-built and no one has a spoke kit in stock. the shop can make the spokes but they can't find compatible nipples without purchasing the kit. unless the shop can pull off a miricle i'll be spending the day doing chores. i'm on vacation Aug 3-6th and hoping to spend most of my time riding. if anyone needs a riding partner let me know.

For anyone interested, we'll be there at 9AM (unless traffic through down town is crazy). We will stop at the trail head, (first dirt turn off on top of "long hill" past Furry creek), so any late comers can catch up. Gas up before we meet, bring snack or small lunch and plenty of water (it will be hot). We will do the logging road east of Furry first, than doubble back to the Britania mine and power station, and if there is time do the logging road past the Chief in Squamish. If you haven't ridden this area before, this will be a good introduction.
Please post up or PM, so I have some idea of the number of people going, so far we have 3 confirmed. (welcome aboard Adrienne)

That was a brilliant ride, well done all that joined and thanks Glen for showing us some great points of interest and riding tips including how to cross a stream properly!
We'll go again next Monday, same time and meeting place, all are welcome.

OK Newbies (and newbies at heart)!
1) I want to head out to Squamish this Friday (8:45AM, st David's church parking lot at Taylor way and #1), knobbies required.
2) Monday we have a group riding the west side of Harrison, or possibly north of Squamish, details tbd.
PM or post up if interested in joining.

OK so by popular consent, we are leaving st David's parking lot (Taylor way & #1) at 8:45 AM, Tomorrow (Friday) for a ride up to Squamish. I know, 8AM was too much like getting up for work!!

There is a lot of interest in the Monday ride up the West side of Harrison. I will post the details on Sunday, to give everyone a chance to PM or post their preferences, but it will be an early start, with 3 meeting spots (East Van, Maple Ridge and Sasquatch). We will head up to Pemberton with the option to return via Squamish, or the same way.

Well today's (Friday) ride was pretty much a wash.
The good news is that I did not throw up in my helmet (!!!), did not drop the bike (several opportunities) and did not get run over by a grader (fresh logging roads are soft!).
The bad news is that I can't move my arm and most likely have to bail on Monday. Could someone please take over posting/organizing it. It is not that difficult, and there are at least 5 riders interested.
