I have been doing some research, and making a few calls.

Looks like I will likely use the Mag 7 crew for my pit work.....seemed really nice on the phone, and knowledgeable to.

Has anyone heard anything negative about them?

Thanks

No worries, I am doing the 500, just because others would not want to, does not mean I don't.

Already sent in the forms to Mag 7.:hb:

How much you figure this trip would cost? and how long ya think we would be gone for? I might seriously consider this ...Id need to prep the bike {bigger tank lights and such ) but other than that it should be good to go ...

So far we have two guys going for sure.

So if you go, its 1/3 gas, your own food , lodging, etc.

Pay your pit crew or whatever you plan to use.

Have another guy that will know for sure in a month if he can go....then its a 4 way split on shared costs.

What bike would you run?

Well keep in touch.

So there is lots of room in the truck limiting it to 4 people.

ps. no need for a big tank pits are damn close togehter if you use mag 7....can you go 50 to 55 miles?

If so your set...keeps the weight down not packing extra gas to.

Depends on what you want them to do, and how often.

They seem real cool, give them a call and see if they are what you want to do.

So far me and my pal from up north are using them.

Everything from food and water, to tires, and welding if you need it.

I hope to get by with gas, food and water....but if something breaks they are there.

How do guys feel about sharing a camper?

I have a 10 foot camper, nd a trailer to tow to haul the bikes.....gas burn goes up, but no need to hotel it.

Its got 3 beds, and the guy drawing the short straw can put a foamy on the floor.

I did get firm dates also, June 5 and 6 2009.

Getting an info pack sent to me with entry fees etc.

I have decided to NOT take the honda xr, since fuel range is no concern with the pits so close together.

I will be 2 smoking it instead...half the weight, sounds great.

A little info for your bike to pass.

Plus you need a snell certified helmet. and first aid kit.

Zip ty, or saftey wire all spokes.
Zip ty fuel line ( both ends).
Working tail light RED. I like the bicycle 'Vista' blinking type.
SCORE stickers on the front (fender or trim it a little and put it on the bottom of the # plate), also the sides (swingarm).
Numbers, WHITE background with BLACK numbers! just make them visibale, don't try and jamb some supercoss numbers on there.
First aid kit, as mentioned above, put something together and bring in your fanny pack to Tech. What you do with it after Tech is your call.
Helmet(s), clean, up to date, bring to Tech.
You MUST have your sign up completed BEFORE entering Tech.

I will grab the wifes camera and get some for you soon....still going to add 1 more light , and different tires.

Thats about all....oh ya nd safety tie the fuel line and spokes....the spoke things seems like a weird idea to me, but whatever.

ps. if you ask for ride pics in a thread about baja, one assumes you want pics of baja.

youtube has a million videos of racing in baja, and the internet in general has millions of pics of baja and bikes period.

Its going to be nice to have the pits so close together, makes any bike capable of the range really.

Heck a ktm 950 even carries enough gas to go 55 miles don't it ?
