Sure - I'll help; I like playing with maps. I've done my share of arrowing on VMC events too. I'm not saying I'm an expert or anything, but I do have my very own stapler (staples too :), and shears etc. for trail clearning.) PM me and we'll go from there.

I guess that puts me in too, at least for the Saturday. No camping though. I guess I'm going to have to get off my *ss and fix my bike.

I'm in, but I don't know if I'll be camping and/or bringing the family.

Sounds like a great weekend. I'm in plus at least 2 more riders. Will bv be camping. I'll update soon regarding total number of riders and number of RV's (if any).

Took a ride out there yesterday. The location is perfect for getting to all sorts of great riding within minutes! And the area is beautiful. Only went a couple of miles past towards Renfrew before the ruts in the ice (still) turned me around but, hopefully it is on the melt.

Day trip, no camping unless someone want to let me stay in a nice warm motorhome.

I was a bit premature on this. I am now out. I really want to go but I have to work that weekend. (I also missed the Dead Zone last summer due to a mechanical problem, what can you do, eh?)

Interesting.

Ididn't know you could transfer GPS tracks to BC Backroads digi maps.

Is there any on make of GPS device that is better than another for this purpose?

I ask 'cause I'm looking to buy a small hand held like a Garmin Geko 201/301 or the GPS 60. Not sure yet.Being able to transfertracks to a map on my computeris paramount.

Any points of view would by appreciated.

Thanks.

Brilliant 00Buck! I'll be there, and I'll advise soon on another 3 guys. (pumpkin patrol/creamsicle dream team - KTMs all.)

OK, update. In addition to myself there will be 1 more: Steve Burke. Please add Steve to the list, no camping req'd for either of us.

Cheers!

I'm still working on the other 2 guys...

Check out this old thread Julius for a Garmin GPS discussion.

Lots of people weighed in on the topic there.

Hi Julius.....

The GPS download ability depends on the "viewing software" that you use ie Ozi Explorer, Fugawi, MemoryMap etc.....almost all viewers have the capability toreceive tracks & waypoints from GPS units.....Garmin seems most common but I have seen Magellen andgeneric formats as well.

BC Backroads map "images" require a viewer.....the maps come set up for use with Ozi Explorer but I have used several other viewers to load them as well.

Ozi has lots of functionality and is well known.

Sorry for the interuption on this thread....I'll move this over to the GPS discussion

Jimbo.....
