So you bringing the WR or the 950?

WR this time. I loved the trails last year just couldn't go any further with the blown fork seal on the 525.

Can't wait!!! I would even be in for some pre-rides just to check it out before hand.

So following our meeting last night here's the task list. Please take a look at what we need help with and post up to say you're willing. We'll add you to the Orca Run Discussion Group and you can then participate in organisatonal discussions and keep updated with what's happening and when.

Most of the help we need will be for riding, flagging and noting the routes (which is no fun at all;)) and so we'll be schedueling some pre event rides.

Hey guys, would love to help out with pre-riding the B route, possibly the A depending on difficulty. Have a new GPS unit and would be happy to help make out some routes.

I'd also be happy to help with any sort of logistics (camping, food etc) if whoever is heading that kinda stuff up could use some help.

We have had to make a drastic change.

Because of campground issues, the ORCA RUN will now be held on May 9th.

We apologise if this affects your plans to attend.

Once again...

the ORCA RUN will be held on the weekend of...

Hey Steve,

Talked to Alex at Savage and he will donate a bunch of coupons. For what. I don't know but I just have to pick them up. As for Action, Dave says it is best to drop in and talk to the owner about sponsorship. Haven't been over there yet.

Doug.

So how about some feedback on the routes last year?

Getting back on topic of the ORCA RUN here.

Hi guys.

You asked for feedback. I took the C route. If it is at all possible, could you please cut more of the pavement part of the road out and put a tiny bit more challenging routes in, either as harder options. I know for myself that I am not a B rider in any way, shape, or form. However I would like to be a bit challenged when it comes to riding the route. I certainly enjoyed the scenery a lot, but it really wasn't challenging either. Now, if that was your goal. Then you succeeded. Any any brand new rider would have enjoyed the ride immensely. I enjoyed it too, but I am not a brand new rider and like I said, would have enjoyed a bit more of a challenge.

Don't get me wrong. I think you guys did a heck of a job:clap::clap: and with the snow level where it was, you could not do more. We may have a bit of a problem with that again this year I understand. Hopefully will get a lot more sun earlier to melt the snow away. :ss:

I am hoping to make it out again this year to ride...my work may get in the way however, but hopefully not.

I liked the route sheet too.. A guided tour wouldn't be bad if you were only expecting a small amount of people, but more people, you tend to lose some or have to wait ...then it takes the fun out of it.. Stick to the route sheets they worked good.

Thank you all for doing a great job last year and looking forward to an even better ride this year !! Keep up the good work!! :dr::dr:

Good points Rambo... we've been discussing this.

Last years C loop was more of a D type road ride. It was more about scenery than challenge.

It will remain, mostly unchanged for the large segment of riders that enjoy that.

The only other choice was a very challenging A/B mix that was too difficult for many, including myself.

Ideally what we are aiming for is an A/B combination loop for the experienced riders.

Also aB loop that is 650 friendly, for average riders that want some challenge but don't enjoy crashing on every hill. That would be most of us includingme.

However it will be a real challenge for us designing a B courseon our rocky island terrain. I don't even know if it's possible, or if there is time once the snow melts. If not, we willwork on adding optional B sections to the C route for this year.
