Hey Northie, can you explain the first pic? Was this taken "after" the airborne experience? Also, the links to the videos don't seem to work. Got this message:The URL contained a malformed video ID.

Vids should be working now and the pic is long after the jump, and just before the clean. You can hear him mutter something to the effect of at least the tires got a washing.

First vid? Either missed an event before or after? Should of got the mud bog though! Second vid was I'm sure the attempt to capture another mishap, haha foiled!

The first pic was the mung on my wheels after a gracious dismount, the rear was about the same. I went down fast, not fast speed , just WHAM!

But at least you got the evidence off the camera.

You're right. I wouldn't want to be cold & soggy and miss the view due to rain & low clouds. This one would be better suited for nicer weather. Perhaps something "local" on Sunday?

Still looking like something local on Sat and/or Sun (cold & wet). Williams Creek at Jackpine Flats or the others you suggested. I haven't been up those.

Are you tent camping at Red Sands? I guess I could test out my gear

Saw thenote re: Red Rose Mine, creeks etc ... let's pick our time ...should be pretty good around the back of those mountains

Sparklr - looks like you need those new tyres on PDQ.

Nothing's "in stone" for Red Sands. Some friends are moving away and are having a camping get-together there. We may join 'em, or just go out for a few hours during the day. I thought I could sneak away for a ride...;)

So sorry Kermode, I couldn't wait- time was limited. Opted for a little scoot up Bish however. Pre-ride check required an oil top up. Nearly a litre for the oil burning PIG, although no sign of oil outta the pipe? No leaks, where the hell is it going? Note to self, more frequent checking required.

The ride starts out with that ominous and awkward feeling of uncoordination, balance seems off. Slept good, perhaps too long, can't seem to shake the cobwebs, even after all the Java that required a premature stop. Photo moment, fishermen heading out for a catch. Click/Beep WTF, again Click/Beep WTF again. I just put new batteries in on Daddies' Day. NO MEDIA STORAGE DEVICE the frikken device reminds me. Ha, brought the cellphone.

Bike almost rolled away off the stand. Phew!

Fishermen trolling up the Douglas Channell

Get to the Gate and it is open, so far no logging trucks have been seen. Hmm the sign says "Road Closed 11KM" Wonder why, maybe I can get around closure.

Been leery all the time, so my pace is slower than normal, no blasting or roosting in store today.

So I toddle along enjoying the scenery and leisurely cruise.

Wow, this is the road closure reason. There was some room to get around, so creeped by. Really alot worse than it looks, it was a long way down if you goofed.

Then this, with another area that requires investigating. New area, so a compadre would be in order.

This one gave me the jitters, one end on the ground, propped up by branches. Under I went.:spl:

Steep, shark rock (Tire Eaters) climb and Voila!

I headed back and found one more tire eater dead end. Felt like investigating the other route far back in the valley shot, but something told me otherwise. Better be home on time for once and rescue Grandma from the little one. One and a half hours ride seemed to fill the void. I park it and do the usual trip meter observation for a report.

 CREEPY!

Nice, your getting good at these photos and ride reports!! Fills my void...not really but better than nothing. Weird the KLR is burning oil at such a young age. Have to keep an eye on that one. What oil you using?

I hate them days when you feel off. I felt like that all day on the Kitsault ride, probably cause we had a party the night before but anyhow..

No roosting, man when we were out white bottom I remember coming back after all the mud and saying where the hell did he go? I had to really blast hard to catch up and then we were pinning it out of corners and on several occasions I noticed your tail light wiggle on the way into corners. Except for all the dust and flying dandelions that was a really fun and FAST run back. Good times, can't wait until the next time.

For anyone reading don't bother trying to keep up with this little bugger when he gets going...he's a MANIAC:hb:

No problem Mica. I ended up spending more time trying to get my rear lights to stay put. I then tackled a couple of jobs around the yard that had my name on them.

I am going to head out for a couple of hours this evening and see where I end up. Klrnorth, Chuck, Proudman.... anyone up for a jaunt this evening?

I'm not A MANIAC, I'm just STOOPID

Just checked my oil again, now it seems too full, even though it was below top mark after I topped it up. No choice but to change her and measure what the hell is going on. I levelled it and waited before adding, it indicated low, topped and levelled and waited, level was good. WTF? Oil stuck somwhere? Arghh!

Probably can't get free until at least 7 so I guess I will be out. Hopefully this weekend if all goes well. What time you thinking?

Thanks for the ride report & pics. That's one I'd like to try when I'm out your way. I'll get the location from you some other time...

As for tonight, I was thinking of maybea "leisurely ride"out to Red Sands. I don't want to do anything "technical" because I sliced the end of my finger and won't have too much control. A knife's useless unless it is sharp, right? Well, lets say the kife is very useful!! Too bad for me I had to discover it that way.:X

that sounds painful Chuck. I will pass on the leisurley ride as it has been that long since I have been on the bike I was looking for a bit of adventure.

Warren, I suppose we would be okay to head out at 7 (earlier if possible;)). A pal told me about a neat lake you can get to if you take the track opposite the Usk hobby farm. This might be neat to check out.I am fancying water, mud and a bit of hill climbing. If I am not mistaken those conditions are never far away from your agenda.

That sounds great... but you'll have to count me out this time. I'll watch for your ride report so I can catch the ride another time. Have fun and get muddy!! ;)
