Tried it but it's a death wish, in fact a lady died where I just about did last year. Not looking great for me yet this weekend, I am looking to be the babysitter while A is away then I am gone Mon for a couple weeks. Tonight may be my only chance and that is even a bit doubtful. Be back on 24th and desperate to ride. Do a search for more on red rose

Didn't work out. We had a bit of a flea infestation from the animals and had to rip out all the carpet. We were planning on doing that anyhow...just at a later date. Done now, but it's taken away my valuable riding time this week. Autumn will be gone until Sunday, possibly late and I am stuck with babysitting duties, even though the one left here isn't quite a baby. I'll get out for a few beer runs to town and whatnot but that looks to be the extent of my freedom until I return on the 24th.

The DR called yesterday and is coming for his bike this weekend he thinks, but has no idea when. Ah well July was a pretty good riding month for me, now it's your guys turn to shine and make me jealous as I eat lobster, mussels , new potatoes and all the other good stuff the other side has to offer. Post lots of pics and words for me. And have fun.

Hold the train, I may be able to get out on Sunday, but it's still a big MAY. If anyone is planning a Sunday ride let me know and I will hopefully be able to join in late. Anywhere is good for me as long as it involves some dirt. Maybe Sterling?

It would be good if some of could meet up when the DR is in tow. Is the the bike at Kermodei's place? I can be out & about Sat/Sun ...but not too much dirt Northy! ...especially if it does rain! So sign up everyone. Seem to have missed everyone the last few weeks. :(sob sob

I have been tracing down an electrical problem on the bike all week. I think I've fixed it. "it" being no lights at front, rear/brake and intermittant winkies (only they didn't flash). Seems it was a couple of half chewed skinny wires under the seat/tail. Why is everything connected to everything else? :? So, I just have to put the bike together again on Sat a.m and will probably be out by lunch if anyones going out (excuse is that I need a couple of spare bulbs)

Where is Sterling?

Sterling is around Rosswood, the DR just left and it's looking better for me riding tomorrow but not 100% yet, but close. Who's coming?

Give me a time & place to meet but not too early ...say between 9-10 in Terrace?

Going for quick blast to Terrace now... see if anything drops off! ..then back thro' Wedeene

P.S. Whoops of the week: lowering bike off the jack support, the side stand wasn't fully extended/locked and after a few split-seconds, the bike fell over ...ah well, good practice!

So we got out today me, Proudman & eventually KLRnorth re-joined us at Old Remo & Whitebottom. Not too wet, just enough to keep the dust down. Water was low at where we believe is the "missing link" for the Kitimat-Terrace trail. Some quads looked to have made it but too deep for me. Then we went up to some recently made logging tracks with some "dirt" for Northie & good views for the rest of us!

What fell of my bike this time? ...the little dome nut on the exhaust header collet. What fell off someone else's bike (x2)? ...you'll have to ask!

:worth:...the "owner" can let me know if I can post it!

Here's some other pics (click pic to open the gallery)

Sorry...let's try again

Damn, I hate sleeping while others ride. Tentatively I'm off to Van for the weekend, I might try to do a Squamish to Indian Arm ride while down there and a maybe a Lillooet return topped with a little Kamloops to Williams Lake detour on the way home. Hope to manage some FSR to compensate for the monkey butt mileage.

Now I can only speculate as to what fell off, but I'll hazard a guess that it was a rider.

Have fun back East Northie , we'll try to ride on your behalf.

...with permission granted by the "owner" here's the second dump of the day. I was trying to lift the bike off when northie finally realised something was wrong & came back. We got the bike up ...camera out. Fortunately nothing too serious to rider (nothing lasting I hope?) and we straightened out the forks/triple tree. We were travelling left to right in the photo.

Stiffness and aches in some strange places but nothing worth complaining about. I've hurt worse :D.
We're in Prince George now, waiting for Dorothy's motorcycle course to start, so no riding until next week.
If I can fix my bike. Still figuring out how to do that.

1) ...you should have seen the first practice one!

2) ...I think his Dunlop 606 rear was too grippy

3) Sounds like a Tech Weekend ...still got my 12mm wrench handy for the forks ;)

Anyone around this weekend (15/16th) ...it's bit tight for me (Honey do's) but I can usually escape ...still need a 12mm dome or flange nut for the exhaust collet; can't seem to find one anywhere ( ...I know! ...there's a couple of spares on the triple trees/forks of that blue KLR) ...so could justify a run through to Terrace on Saturday.

For info: I now have 4237km on the rear Kenda 270 & 3695km on the front Trailwing 21. Centre Tread Depths: Fr = 7mm to now 5.7mm Rr = 13mm to now 9.4mm = about 1mm/1000km So seems to be wearing ok.

Dr Bike: Have you had chance to look over your bike? We need a damage report filed.

I'd be happy to lend you a 12mm nut but I'm in PG.
There are a couple of places in Terrace that might have them but the one that I have in mind isn't open on the weekend.

I am shocked and amazed, only 4 parts were broken, total cost less than $250. Sort of makes me mad, destroyed my shoulder and only 4 broken things on the bike. Bike is far tougher than me. Rather than get a new speedo I just replaced the upper and lower case, upper cowl and associated frame, thats it!

I don't understand..... the rubber-man is down more than a whores drawers on paydayand ends up with a little bruising here and there, but his bike is much worse for wear, me I drop her once and off for a season. I'm thinking the new ones are much softer bikes, might have to get one of the new softer klr's and maybe start eating my foam pillow might end up with a little bounce in my step as an added bonus!

Even the GPS survived, the ram mount seems to be designed to break rather than destroy the unit, even that part was cheap, at less than 10.00 from GPS city. I won't even have to sell my faz to pay for the parts! All in all not a bad repair bill if body parts don't count.
