I just got the April copy of Cycle Canada and it has an article by Tom Grenon describing his trip to many of the same places we will be going on our trip. It looks awesome!:hb:

The Cariboo dualsport crowd did the loop along the Chilko R. and back through the Nemaia Valley to Hanceville. My point? They have gas in the Nemaia Valley now.

Hi,

I am still interested. Haven't seen any details here, have you guys had your planning meeting? Could you please fill me in?

Getting everyone together for a planning meeting is proving to be impossible. I have posted the accommodations in the itinerary on my first post. I have booked space for 3, maybe 4 people. I understand Eric-KLR is looking after his own accommodation.

Accordingly, the real planning is determining what all we going to bring and splitting it up, i.e. there is no need for all of us to carry tire irons etc.

I will PM you my phone numbers and please call if you want to discuss further.

We probably dont need a planning meeting, although getting together for a brew for any reason is a good thing.:hb:

Sorry to hear Mike (DH66) cannot make it. :(

I just got an e-mail from BC Ferries saying they have changed our itinerary. We will now be arriving in Pt Hardy at 8PM on Friday rather that at 9AM on Saturday. Not a problem but it does mean we need to get a place to stay in Pt Hardy on Friday night.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a good place to stay in Pt Hardy?

We are down to the final four, 00Buck can't make it due to some family issues.

The plan is to meet at the Departure Bay ferry terminal at 6:00AM Saturday July 8 and to catch the 6:20 sailing to Horseshoe Bay.

We will leave Horseshoe Bay around 8 and will meet up with Eric-KLR at Brittannia Beach at about 8:20. Then a quick blast up to Pemberton where the pavement will end as we go over the Hurley Pass to GoldBridge, up past Tyax resort and through Mud Lakes; over China Head Mtn to BigBar Ferry and finally to Clinton for the night.

Apparently the Mud Lakes ride can be challenging, my brother tells me that we have to cross Churn Creek 3 times and that there are no bridges, but we all watched Long Way Round so we should have no problems. Seriously, if anyone does not want to try this route they can stay on the road to Lillooet and go to Clinton via Hat Creek.

That's it, see you on Saturday:tup:

Don't worry Three Creek Crossing it will be low by the time you get there. It's mostly snow run off and most of that has melted. Lots of technical sections but very doable on a KLR. When we do the Poison Mountain ride we stay at the Morrow Cabins on Tyax Lake, just before the Tyax lodge, check them out if you have time its a great place to stay.

Super route you guys are taking, I'm jealous :(I cant make it this year.

Make sure you take lots of pictures, I will at a section on the Photo Gallery Chilcotin Adventure
