We had asuccessful pre-ride of the first half of the C route this past weekend. It was fantastic!! There is a little bit of everything for everyone. You will have fun, you will have a couple of challenges but that is why you bring your friends with you . . . . . . if it was easy then everyone would do it. The scenery will be worth it. The experience will be second to none. The following photos tell the story.

This is our lunch stop

We still have one more weekend to pre-ride and then we will have the routes done

Also on the C loop there will be an option to go for gas in Cache Creek after the lunch stop. The A/B riders can also go into Cache Creek for gas if they need to but it will be about a 20 minute detour or maybe a bit longer (Tom can comment on this point also).

For the B route: How far along in the route is the detour to Cache Creek? Would it be about half-way?

Check out Tom's new thread on fuel info. There will be a truck half way (120kms) for the A & B route if you need to put a fuel can on it.

Cheers :f:

Hi Kiwi
From the lunch stop you can take the main FSR eastbound approx. 15km into Cache Creek (once you get to the pavement you turn left to get to Cache Creek). You can then return to the lunch stop area which is Reset #4 and continue westbound on with the "B" route.

From the lunch stop the "C" route will be taking a different FSR northbound towards Bonaparte then going thru Cache Creek where they can stop for gas if required. The "C" route will also be going past Horstings Farms (just before getting to Cache Creek) which is FAMOUS for their pie . . . . sooooo if the C route riders want to stop in for dessert this would be the place!!

Those roll chart thingys?????

Those roll chart thingys?????

Hi all.

A couple of us want to go in this event this year. It recommends a roll chart device.
1) is it a must???
2) can one get away with out one?
3) I read they mount on cross bars. What about bars with no cross bars eg: KTM's?

Thanks to anyone that can lend his advise.

The roll chart makes it a lot easier to negotiate while you are travelling down the trail. There are a variety of ways you can attach it to your bike. I fit mine on the bars with a larger hose clamp. And yes you can get away without it, however you will forever be pulling out the paper to read when the next intersection is. I purchased mine from MTR motorsports.

It's probably easier with a roll chart holder, but I've never used one.
I just put the route sheet in a large ziploc bag, and tape it to the bars....

:clap: The Roll Charts Have Been Emailed To Everyone On The Dead Head List (who provided an email address on the entry form)

If you did not receive the email then you didn't put an email address on your entry form or I just couldn't read it

Send me a PM or email me [email protected] and I will email you the routes.

Hey cactusreid, I won't be bringing them to sell, just to show and tell...and I couldn't bring many on the moto anyhow. Are you "friendly" with any of the current dealers? ;)

I will drop by and say hi though...

I think Valley Moto (sponsor !!) is going to bring some up to the Loose Screw. Might even be one in the prize draw?? You should hold off on buying one till then.
