Try using a format for register/login like this, UserName, PassWord. seem to remember case sensitive being important, worked for me.

Decided to go see what all the hype was about up here :p

Google Earth puts the impending darkness forced turnaround point about 200m from the top of the gravel road on the chehalis side. The original goal was to at least get a visual on the next road section, but the day started too late for that. Another 50-100m probably would have given a view from the top of the clearcut. Most of the terrain (slope wise) through the old growth section doesn't look bad. From what could be seen in bare patches (semi running water cutting through the otherwise 2-4' of snow) it might be pretty soft terrain in a lot of areas though. It might dry up enough in summer to be less of a problem though. Sticking to the sideslopes at the edge of the valleys would probably be a good idea, rather than staying in the bottom of the saddle.

Looks like a fun project. Count me in if I'm local next spring/summer. Some of the washouts near the top of the access road are pretty steep and covered in no smaller than bowling ball sized rocks and could be a challenge. The majority of the route from the west side looks good. Someone's obviously spent some time cutting a lot of the face slappers out of the way. :hb: to whoever put the effort in there.

Harrison west/mystery creek/chehalis/NW connector to stave would make a pretty sweet all dirt loop.

June 13 , I felt like we were trying another attempt on Mt Everest, only to get turned back again by a freak of nature, this time torrential rains, John, Guy, Gordon and Myself attempted to find the illusive North West Connector route thru the old growth forest but we turn around at the end of the old road. Allready soaked to the bone the thought of fighting our way thru the berrybushes and brambles was too much.

Any one up for an evening hike to find our route? weather permitting of coarse!

Hi Flynn:

So many rides to do and so little time. I am sure we all suffer from that one. I would be up to go back up to the top of the trail from the Stave side and see if we can find a route down into the clearcut on the other side. Does anyone know the status of the Statlu Creek FSR. There were rumours that they might decommission some bridges to deter traffic. Last fall there was a gate near the Chehalis intersection although it was easy to get around. Also curious about access via Norrish Creek, have they put up a new gate making it impassible??

Cheers....otg

We rode the Statlu creek FSR last summer, Roads and bridges were open then but that may have changed since, there is a new gate on the norrish creek fsr that was open two sundays ago, logging is still very active in the Dickson lake area.

I was thinking of doing some exploring up lost creek one night thursday or friday

Checked this out with a buddy. Wow, you must be pretty close. Maybe we'll have to join one of you work parties. Definitely one for a dry day though. We were getting soaked up in the clouds today.:D
