Well it will be a while till you fellas get home. The ride up to sloket was great. Good company and great views. On the way back rick and I picked up a couple of KLR's and it was mostly good. OK , two things' Ride within your ability as well as the ability of the machine., Managed 56k av overall. All most as much moving as stopped. Who the hell was that on the oil smellin ktm? shit house crazy...
Epic adventure, Hope eveyone makes it home. Especialy the other klr rider.

Oh man, I hate to hear that! Where did he get off and how did it happen? Was there any damage to the bike? Ribs heal fast; hope he has a speedy recovery.

Hi John,
I might have got this wrong but here goes: Just before the Big Hill he hit a hidden cross ditch at a good clip, his front end bottomed out, the Bike bounced out and landed hard. He and the Bike took a tumble. The right foot peg sheared off and the rear brake lever and foot pad broke. Damage to fairing and plastic, etc.
He did ride the Bike out and with a piece of wood zapped strapped on for a foot peg. He's one tough guy.

That was as epic trip! Long, fast, and though it turned into a survival run in that deluge at the end... very memorable

As usual I was going too fast and having too much fun followed buy a sudden stop. Joe Rocket Ballistics jacket, HJC street helmet and Sidi boots saved my life and body from a fate much worse than it turned out. All the gear all the time guys. Frame, sub frame all ok and front end ok on KLR. Need to replace upper and lower faring on right side, right side foot peg was sheared off and rear brake lever and master cylinder mount were also destroyed. Thanks again to North, Volcon and Ti Welder for mfg a foot peg out of a stick that held the 80 some odd km to my home. I am very sore today and upset about missing work but I'll be riding the KLR to work as soon as I'm able to repair the lower controls. Fore the moment just getting in and out of bed is a chore between sore ribs and a couple of sheet stickers.

Hi Alex. We got back to the Sasquatch about 7:30. About an hour and a half north of the Sasquatch we got caught in a thunderstorm with a downpour so heavy you could only see about 20 meters, and it continued for close to an hour. When got to the detour the rain had stopped but we were soaked through and freezing cold so we decided to ride through to the construction site. Our thinking was that they probably had finished what they were working on, or at least would have gone home and we'd be able to get around what ever it was they were doing. When we arrived at the site they were still working but we could see a path through and were in no mood to be stopped so we just basically ignored them and rode through. They made no attempt to stop us and shut everything down until we were past. We were so wet and cold that riding back down that nasty boulder hill wasn't really an option.
Just for the record, according to my GPS the total trip was 383km, moving time was 6 hr and 22 min, stopped time was 3 hrs and 2 minutes. Maximum speed was 118kph, moving average was 60 kph and overall average was 41 kph.
Can't wait to do another one.

Thanks John for helping me get up the detour. (The Kawa ended on top of me on the first attempt.) It was a fun day that turned into a bit of an epic when the cloudburst sent us into near hypothermia. And thanks for the haywire that kept my new and very expensive Promoto Billet aluminum rack from coming adrift. Next time I will come better prepared. Th ehot shower when I got home felt like a million bucks!!
ps . I have a green bungee cord that someone kindly loaned to me.

Actually I think that's just the "Elite" Group, our subversive splinter faction detoured to the hot springs. Strangely I don't think anyone really wants to see those photos.
