You are very welcome! Glad to see you made it home ok. As far as the bent pieces go...replace the shift lever BEFORE it snaps! I saw a crack in it after we bent it away from the case. I replaced my DR shift lever with one from Moose. Any local bike shop should be able to help you out. As for clutch lever....no idea...never had to replace one yet. Knock on wood!

I just wanted to post somthing to thank one of the sponsers of the ride, Pacific Yamaha BMW. I took a rip on the 450 they had out and for everyone that didn't get a chance to i can tell you that thing is for real. Goes like hell for a 450, plush suspension but not wallowy and didn't seem to want to stall in the single track like alot of thumpers. In a race i would still pick my KTM 530 but for 95% of my riding that fofiddy beemer is a better choice (cheaper to). I know a guy that is looking to trade up from his DT200 and i think this would fit the bill perfectly so i'll point him intheir direction.

Pete, can't load the video. But I'm looking forward to watching! I didn't get any pics of the first part, and that's where the "fun" stuff was.
Great day of riding. One of the best and definitely the most challenging. All I ask is that next year when some poor shmuch asks if he can do it on his <insert inappropriate bike here> you guys don't say "some a**hole did it on a multistrada last year 2-up and didn't crash".
Because it was a miracle! I think I just turned my brain off and my Manitoba farm boy instincts took me home.
Here are some pics. I didn't take any during the hard bits. If anyone has pics of me riding I'd love em! (scotthiebert (at) gmail (dot) com)

Fantasic ride today! DSBC really set a new precedent when it comes to newbie rides.
I was very impressed with how smoothly this event ran, the organization, planning, and support that was obviously thought out well in advance. The challenges were, as they should be, challenging, with plenty of encouragement along the way.
Good to see familiar faces and meet a ton of new folks as well.
Thanks to all who made this event what it was!

Now this looked like fun! Why did I have to work today?? Oh well, I did get to take my brand-spanking new DR650 on her maiden voyage...Pemberton to Whistler and back again, with a little taste of dirt over at Owl Creek rec site...brisk temps, but great to be riding again....Bring on the summer!
Hope I can catch the next event...
