Looks like someone went of the route, we arrowed around the mud pit. If I knew that you guys would have so much fun there I would have left it in:clap:

I counted 123 people at the Riders Meeting ! ! !
The CMA served 115 breakfasts ! ! !
We (the royal "we" of Paul, Alex and Sharon) BBQed 120 Hamburgers, 70 Smokies and 24 jumbo dogs ! ! !
This has been the biggest Newbie Ride to date. We had every DS dike make and model; We had riders with 40+ years of experience and riders with no experience; We had young riders and old riders; We had brand new bikes just out of the wrapper and bikes that have been around the trails a few times.
I have a few VERY IMPORTANTThank yous to make:
:dr:Tom, Neil, Bren, Bob, Walt, John, Pete - They were our pre-riders and the guyswho arrowed the course :dr:
:br:Christian Motorcycle Association - Thanks for showing up at 6:00am and having coffee and breakfast available :br:
:clap:Pacific BMW/Yamaha - Thank you so much for Sponsoring lunch at the end of the day and for having those fantastic bikes available for everyone to demo. You folks looked like you were pretty busy over at your trailer.:clap:

aul, Sharon and Alex - Thanks so much for taking care of the BBQing. I was SO happy to leave that chore in your capable hands (I owe you one) :tup:
Many many many thanks to the following men who I ribboned in the morning. These were the guys who were helping you all day out on the trails and pointing the riders in the right direction:
Tom, John, Neil, Mike, Bren, Bob, Doug, Vince, Ken, KTMKen, Walt, Guy, Claude, Ian, Alex, Rocke, Bob, Peter. And Matthew whovolunteered his First Aid services (luckily they weren't needed).
All day there were also others who stepped up and helped out on the trails when someone was in need: :tup:Mike F, who took some REAL Newbies on a modified course. :dr:Bill H (5th Gear), I understand he helped someone fix a flat tire out on the trail. To you guys and everyone else (you know who you are) THANK YOU for making it a great dayfor your fellow riders :hb:

I'm sure this is a unanimous feeling; but I had an awesome ride!
It was an AMAZING day for me with a poor finale. I headed over the border and up Mt. Baker to have a look around too so it was a real DS day for me!
However on my way back on HWY #1 I got a ticket and then had to get my bike towed home... But it was well worth it for the day I had!!!
Thank you to all who put this show on and I'm looking forward to the next event!
Also thank you to the guy who picked up my jerry can; It turned out that I had no need for extra fuel so I'm glad it ended up with someone who actually needed it.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon at more great events!

Oh, right. Well I have my (Car and MC) Malaysian license and I'm getting my Canadian MC license and as yet I've only done the knowledge test, taking the skills test soon. With the 'L' I there are restrictions (supervisor, speed, nighttime driving etc). I was told by ICBC that my Malaysian license was valid while I was in the process of getting my CDN. Cop didn't think so and ticked me for going over 60km/h (speed restriction) and wouldn't allow me to drive because I didn't have a 'supervisor'. Thus I put the bike on a towtruck and got a ride home...

what happened to Dan?
well I dont really know what happened, maybe someone who saw me go down knows more.
the handlebar jumped, I was suddenly in the snow.
everything seemed all right at the time but a couple km later my bike started making death noises and then ceased to run
I got it running and headed for pavement but at some point it completely gave up running and for a few minutes it acted as though the engine was seized and it wouldnt even turn over
luckily a good samaritan with a truck got me and my bike back to the parking lot.
I checked spark, fuel, and compression and couldnt find any reason for the bike not to run.
I loaded the bike into the truck and was waiting for lunch but decided I should probably get to the hospital for some xrays.
So here I am with a bike that wont run, my right hand in a cast againt with a broken thumb, and a brace on my left wrist for a bad sprain.
I might need to find a new hobby, this one hurts too much
