Yes cactus big Al´s just fine, he just had to learn how a "safety´s removed" klR operates, if you push the button it will move in gear or not, on the bike or not which he wasn´t. After that we looked for a ride a little more appropriate of a man of his stature, i believe they call it a park model.
today was an easy day, a mere 400 odd k´s a perfect time for Murphy to show up and make 2 and a half bikes run out of gas (i added spare that i wuz carrying) we spent the karma earned a few days earlier and got gas from a passerby who ripped off his air cleaner yanked off the fuel line shorted out the furl pump and splurted out around 5lt of fuel into that (handy and convenient) acerbis fuel tank, it appears that big fat klrs eat a little fuel at 110k per loaded like a pack mule
if you thought this was a luxury tour think again, this pic is from one of the rooms last night.
up close those roaches look like this, yum!
the boys playing on the malecon here in mazatlan just before out burgers and beer, which they will regret in the morning.

here´s the goodbye, we´re off in the direction of PV in the morn, we´ll see if we can make it without running outta gas this time (murphy can stay home tomorrow). all for now Wayne.
well ok a couple of more shots, the first of floyd with his omnipresent grin trucking on down the road
the next of the teeny bopper that´s riding with us who else but big Al, classic Al picture. No gloves no helmet soon no jacket and always no idea where his paperwork is!
and a gratuitous pic of the side of yours truly´s cabeza with floyd chasing behind.
ps working on a follow me link for the spots that are being carried, will post when we can figure it out.

the last cuple of days have been cool (as in neato), going from warm\hot and sagebrush to hot and green, from where everything struggles to grow to where stuff grows on anything, can hardly wait for the tropics!

Loving the reports so far Wayne! Don't lose that photo of Al on the scooter, it's priceless! If you can, email it to me please. Just in case you guy's are wondering, it's -5 this morning and starting to snow!! enjoy and keep the updates coming.
I know your Scottish with a capital S, but maybe if you buy the cervesa,some of the other boy's will throw a post or two on this report?? But hey free beer is not to be taken lightly either.

Its riding paradice down here miles of cool twisty roads. Covered under a tunnel of trees. Weathers is great low 30's , loving it camped on the beach lastnight. Couldn't be better.

Congratulations Al Perrett on your over 60 win at the Baja ! WOW ! Haven,t chatted with you since you ,Turk, and I had dinner at Sun Peaks, reminicing about our World Six Days in 1974 in Italy... Wish I were with you all.. Safe ride, enjoy every minute, and Thanks for all the great photos...

I agree it would be nice to see just exactly where you boys get your suntans. so if you could hit the spot a few more times it would give us a better reason to stop shoveling all this snow. I am following as if I am there. I really want to keep track of that wayne character, he looks so handsome in his picture, or at least your helmet is quite sexy. I especially love the picture of you on your back on the hotel room floor.........
Hi everybody . We are having a great ride going through lots of pueblos and going over lots of topes ( speed bumps ) they are great for getting by slow traffic but are hard on the suspension . Things really heat up by late morning and drain the moisture right out of us so we must stop for cervazas once and a while . Highway 200 has the most corners i,ve ever been on , up and down through the hills it is like a never ending roller coaster mile after mile . Its the week long celebration of the virgin guadalupe here , so the people are parading down the street and highways and letting of firecrackers that rival tnt . We should be getting to guatamala in a couple days. Adios amigos

hey there, been a few days since posting, we're now in salina cruz which though close to an amazing looking beach is not such an amazing place itself, not sure why but there seems to be a lot of bars on all the windows and doors we're certainly not in the best part of town. after mazatlan we took a vacation in puerto vallarta and places farther south, we managed one night of camping on the beach and discovered another place you shouldn't take a klR as evidence my freestanding bike.
after some playing in the warm surf there was a terrific sunset followed by plates of garlic camerones
the topes robin mentioned seem to be growing larger and the fun of launching over them has worn off, it would be nice if they went away now. bombing thru aculpoco was a zoo and gave us our first intro. to traffic mayhem, al missed us at a zig in the road and as only he can, he quite quickly magically reppeared where he needed to be "it was easy i just looped around and went back the other way" i,m just glad i didn't have to see him do whatever he did to get back on track against traffic
just found out it's 10:30 so goodnight all. should be in Guatemala the day after tomorrow!

Is it too hot along the Mexican coast for a riding jacket? Which is better....Floyd's Darien or the other jackets? And Wayne, is your jacket as cool as you hoped (ya, I know it LOOKS good).

ouch on the roach my ears are no where near that big
if by oil port you mean inherintly butt ugly then yup its an oil port
the olympia is very well vented indeed though theres no denying the fact that its friggin hot out! i'm the only one who has worn a jacket every day all day.
posting from my pod now more pics when on a real comp thingy next time
over 6500m elev change today finally climbed outta the valley smoke at 2000m spectacular day today were at close to 4200k now and entering guatemala tomorrow
