Last night I dropped a load of firewood and checked out the site.

Main camping entrance isnot usabledue to a late winter.

(a mudhole that will swallowthe DSBC BUS!) :mb:

When arriving, enter by main gatebeside house.

Do not stop at house.

Use extreme caution if driving an RV, it's a tight squeeze past the roof.

Watch for animals on driveway!

Continue dead slow down hill to camping areafor registration by DSBC volunteers.

I won't be able to make it. My bike developed brake problems. I have to take it for warranty work. Please take me off the list.

I'm packed up and ready to roll. The Klr is looking like the Fjr, readied for a long touring trip. I'll likely try for a early afternoon ferry.

There should be a couple orange bikes on the 4PM, and two us will be on the 2PM or 3PM. All orange bikes.

I have to back out. I haven't got rid of this Egyptian flu enough to ride. I hope I can drop by on 4 wheels to say hi.

I'm new to the GPS thing...

Now that I have the C Loop Track copied over to my Garmin, what do I need to do to turn it into a "route"...

Or will the GPS simply show me as "on track" while I'm riding on the downloaded track provided....:?

I don't know if this makes sense but I'm trying to figure out if I need to do anything more than send the track to my GPS and hit the throttle?

Any help here or by PM would be appreciated...

Thanks, :hb:

Hi KLR

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you can convert a track into a route....I think it is something to do with routable waypoints.....like I say I'm not sure.

I have made 4 routes from the Orca C track the hard way.....I had to make 4 sections due to limitation on number of waypoints per route.

If you PM me your email address I can send you the gdb file with the routes.

The track itself is still quite useful as a reference......you just don't get the magic purple line....which can lead you astray especially on TopoCanada roads....you also don't get eta, turn directions etc which are not all that necessary on logging roads.

I am assuming you have a Garmin unit.
