thanks, that sounds like a great idea. I have no extra equipment/gear like a tank bag, I'm new.

Right down to the wire....

Event registration and cheque sent out this morning. Hopefully, it will arrive in time.

Feeling a little cocky at the moment and am hoping to ride the KLR on the B route.

Unless your an expert expert rider I would not advise the B loop on a KLR

Oh go on! I saw someone do part of the A route on a 650 Dakar last weekend. It's not what you've got.............

That's right, give it a try! Anyone with some off road experience 'looking for a challenge' should attempt the B route, depending somewhat on what bike you ride. We've seen many KLR's, DR650's, GS650's and of course KTM 640's, 950's and Super Enduros on B trails. Bring a riding buddy to help push through tough spots and to help pick up your bike. Bring both route sheets, if it's too tough then switch to C.

Time has passed quickly!!!

I'm in Vancouver and want to register . I may be able to get a cousin to drop the $$ off at the PO Box - if so, does anyone know the hours of this Post Office?

Yes. :)

As long as the email address you provided on your registration form is legible, you will receive gps tracks and roll charts to print out and bring to the event about a week beforehand.

Note to all - Roll charts and maps are not provided at the event.

I was told that there are maps of each individual route on your website. So far I haven't found anything that looks like a route map. Has it been posted on the website yet?

We don't post our route sheets publicly. Route sheets are for participants only.

A week before the event I will email out roll charts and gps tracks for all routes to all paid participants. You will print off a roll chart for the route you are riding (or for all routes if you are undecided) and/or download tracks to your gps, and bring it with you to the event.

Note: Route sheets will not be available at event.

You mention route sheets. I don't have any way of reading roll charts. Will there be sheets?

Be happy, Chris

Sorry about the confusion.

Route sheets / roll charts are the same thing.

You will print out the route sheets. 8 1/2 X 11"

Use as is, in a tank bag map pocket or large ziplock bag.

Or cut into strips and load into a roll chart holder if you have one.

Either way, it works the same. :)

Unfortunately Mrs Hopper won't be able to make it this year due to scheduled time-off conflict at her workplace.... I guess she'll still get a T-shirt out of the deal if nothing else...

While flagging A+B routes Nick took his KLR on the B route with Loz and me.He had highway gears and highway tires. It was just like Fooseball...Spin-To-Win!!! I was impressed.
