Hola buenos tardes, hey meester wanna but a picture. We,re here in montevideo costa rica Floyd and Mark are out hiking in the cloud forest Al's out talking politics Robin is under the weather and I'm in the basement of a very nice place perched on a hill with a terrific view. Most of the difficult border crossings are behind us we hope, thankfully floyd downloaded some pretty accurate step x step instructions complete with a go for a drink as a final move. We've spent 17.5 hrs in crossings so far so a wee problem of flying our bikes across the darian gap should be a cake walk. As the computator here seems to be happy I've downloaded a bunch of pics so on with it.
i believe there was a comment about spiders earlier, well here's 2, one crossing the road that was big and i wished i put my boot in the pic as a size reference, and the other on the curtain rod in the unbelievably loud place we stayed at in Guatemala, there were heaps of em.
heres a pic from the shower in the spider den, for heat, first you hit the switch on the wall then you flick the switch on the gadget coming outta the wall then you turn on the water, or was that first you turn on the water, yes this is all in the shower and no we dont need no steenkin GFCI

well that was fun man i love computers, mind of their own i tell ya mind of their own.

now dis is a pimped out ride, more than enuf wheels, sounds system"s", skulls wicked red spray paint, babies hanging on a string, battery strapped on the side wicked, lots of spare rope, boom shak-alaka-boom
now where do you buy one of those seat covers, family photo?
looking back towards Mexico
right after entering guatemala and having our bikes sprayed with left over Canadian DDT
this moth was very photo savy and landed on floyds tire to make a good reference to its size, which was a good sized bird
and speaking of birds when passing thru the border in el salvador do NOT park under that tree
the busses were all dressed up in Guatemala and el Salvador
a couple of animal shots, first a flying horse.
then a coupla cows pulling a cart which is all wood (except the axle)
and some animals playing in the water, and a he-man posing robin
this was taken about 3 mins later.
everyone likes food photos, here from a restraunt in Antigua that they may well never get to go to, bummer, the food was so good we ate there 3 times, that is once floyd and myself stopped being sick for a day or two.
and speaking of food, the reason that cashews are so expensive is that the little green top on this is the shell over the nut that has a natural acid in it that after picking MUST be roasted to neutralize it then hand split and picked out, 1 by1, and you thought your job was monotonous
heres three back2bac scenery shots also from antigua the first building is from the 1500's and has survived (kind of) earthquakes and bombings from the volcano that lives next door
and this would be that volcano which was right next to the city, here seen at around 7am with the sun literally peeking around it

i cant come to the fone right now, I'm little and tied up. (dunno bout you but i laughed at that one)
thats bout enuf for now dont want to spoil you, I have managed thanks to a speedy connection to get a few in the bag to post up later.

well we didn't put on many k's today but road into the mountains up to Monteverde.
got to try these klr's on some mud as it rained this morning. they handle like a
dream (not). The road wasn't too bad most of the way but there were a couple
spots that were like greased plywood. Got to see robin do a pretty good tank slapper
but was able to keep it up right. The wind was also blowing hard so we were able
to do a little bit of 45 degree riding also. Good practice for whats to come further down.
Als been checking the honesty of the people in central america and they seem to be

What are you boys using for computers of your own as you travel? Ipad,iphone styles or something else? Just curious,and wondering if you have basemaps of the countries you are heading to installed on your putors. Excellent ride report so far guys, we are loving the ability to travel along with you!

Merry christmas guy's! enjoy a day or two off,before you have to get back to work! most certainly a white christmas here,enjoy the beach!
Hi everyone .well we went and checked out the airport today and we found girag with a little help from people pointing the way for about 5k around the airport . Seems they see a bike loaded down they know what your looking for . We,ll dropped the bikes off tommorow along with $902.00 dineros and fill out the papeles and presto. Lol i wish it was that easy. Very f,n humid here just stupid humid then it pours hot rain on you to cool you off, not! Went to see the canal yada yada . We had christmas dinner at a subway and al had his at the pizza hut up the block.hope to be in bogota in 1 or 2 days . Hasta luego

we're in bogota now and witn luck so are the bikes, a fairly painless procedure and we lucked out with the domestic flight barely 1.5hr wait more later wayne
reid we're using an ipod, a crackberry, and two small laptops as well as whatever hotel ones we come across and some of those are pretty special

Now that you're in the "high country" make sure you chew on those cocao leaves to battle the elevation sickness. How are th bikes holding up? I read that Floyd needed to get some parts fro his steed but he didn't say what he needed. Did he wear out the throttle stop? How did the bikes travel over the Darian Gap? Anything misssing or broken?
It seems like you guys are making pretty good time on your adventure. If you don't slow down a bit, there will likely still be some snow left here when you get back!

Yaa hoo the bikes made it to bogota in one piece . Took a bit to get them cleared but thats all done and over , time to rock and roll ! Floyd needs to change his sprockets and chain , seems the after market ones he put on before the trip were s**t no brand names mentioned . He did manage to pick up some oem stuff in bogota . People here are great to try to help you out any way they can . We get the thumbs up ,waves, honking , whistling and a few other chesters everware we go , its a great feeling. Luego amigos
