You & Ted share the same dilema; he is able to complete the course without begging for gas.

Last year we had a p/u truck with rider jerry cans (gas drop) at the lunch stop. We're working on a similar arrangement this year - Please watch this space for details.

Yes, but he probably carries 20 liters in his backpack

I'll keep an eye open for more info. I am sure I can backpack more than usual if required. A gas check would be great.

Hi,

looking for a bit more info on the Dead Zone tripasI would be travelingalone with minimal backup.

IE fuel stops, New 14 L tank but that is it.

Vehicle recovery, Just in case, back to a semi major road where I could arange pick up.

Map of planed route. So I have a general Idea what I am in for. My tires suck.



Any info would help. I would love to get involved in an organized ride.

I traveled alone last year, Met some nice guys and rode with them, Had a 650r with 120km range and made it the whole A loop with not much problems. If you never been to an organized event this is for sure one of the best ones. Just get there early say hi to a few folks and see who is riding your type of bike and loop and ask to join them...I am sure you will find someone!

Thisevent is the best introductionto back roads riding, dont worry about vehicle recovery and fuel their are enough riders out there that will help durring the ride and we can always arrange to get you out after the ride. It reads like you have little or no experience doing this kind of riding so I would recommend the C loop, lots of fun with a couple of harder options if you feel like challenging yourself.

The C loop is for new the sport riders and the bigger Dual Sport bikes like the 1200GS, It is 90% gravel roads so you will get dirty.

Well I am new dual sport trips but grew up on Dirt Bikes and snowmobiles. I haven't had this bike long enough to completely trust it yet. I have put a few thousand K on it but mostly on the highway. I think I will try out the C loop as an experiment. I know I will be able to keep up there. I know there will be lots of people willing to lend a hand if needed but I don't like depending on other people.

Roll charts should be available on line one week before the event for riders that used pre sign up. You will be able to print it on standard paper and tape the roll chart together yourself, so you wont have to try and do it yourself the day of the event

Lunch stop this year is the same as last year :clap:.

There will be a lunch truck and the fellow will be serving up hamburgers, hot dogs, smokies, etc. at a special DSBC price. Soremember to stash some $$ in your riding pack as he won't be able to accept plastic.

The C loop riders will be stopping for gas in Cache Creek so might as well pickup water and supplies there. That way the water, etc. provided during the lunch stop can be used by the A/B riders that didn't have the opportunity to visit Cache Creek.
